Solid, good-quality Japanese cuisine. My Japanese dad would probably approve of this place! Furniture and decoration were pretty mediocre, but that doesn't matter. What matters more is FOOD and SERVICE.

I loved the omelette with eel inside it (yum!), and the quality of sashimi and sushi was quite good (compared to the quality you could expect in average restaurants in Japan). They pay attention to a simple item like a plain bowl of miso soup, and that's where you notice the difference. The only let-down was their Tempura Donburi (tendon) - although the sauce was as good as ones you can get in Japan, I expected the tempura crumb to be lighter and more crunchy. But I am being picky. After going to a dozen or so Japanese restaurants in town, Daimonji is by far the best among them!
