Went to the restaurant on 31/08/08 and was very disappointed. The amount of people that they try to squeeze in there makes the mind boggle and the food was very ordinary (nothing like it was 14 years ago). By the time you stand in a queue for ages, the food was lukewarm and not very appealing.
We were also very disappointed with the entertainment. The first man was good trying to get the audience involved, but then a very ordinary version of Edelweiss - why not get the audience clapping and singing and happy - almost put us to sleep. And what was with the puppet man - boring even for the kids because they couldn't hear anything. The rest of the entertainment was non-existent.
We were there 14 years ago and the food was fantastic, entertainment brilliant where people were dancing and singing, clapping - none of that now, just more and more people crammed in there like sardines - more money I guess for them, but very disappointing for the guests. We were stuck in a claustrophobic corner of the room and could barely see anything.
All in all, very disappointed and will never be back and will definitely not be recommending it to anyone. What used to be a fabulous place has now been taken over by pure greed.
I went to the Cuckoo for the first time last week. I was very impressed. The food was tasteful, the atmosphere and layout of the restauraunt was so wonderful, the staff were helpfull, the entertainment were great (especially the yoddeling guy) hehe. I enjoyed it so much so that I've referred it to several friends..and plan to head back there next week.
