One of the best restaurants along Mt. Dandenong Tourist Road is Credo Restaurant. Offering modern Italian fare, Credo is an ideal place to dine with family or a group of friends. Credo also does catering for small functions and weddings. The décor is modern and minimalist.
At Credo, you can savour mains of lamb, pork, chicken, steak and seafood and go for special cheeses and Italian desserts for afters. Noteworthy is the wine menu, listing local Yarra Valley wines and other South and Western Australian wines as well. A good selection of beers is also offered.

Me and my wife visited the restaurant last night for a romantic dinner. The service was extremely slow though there were only 3 customers in the restaurants. The Mojito we ordered had no alcohol in it and was simply a mix of water, lemon and mint (and cost 16$) and was prepared by an amateur. We also received sour sparkling water.
The food was equally bad, the scallops were tasteless, the Gnocchi were edible at best, and the worst dish was the spaghetti, which was simply a Spaghetti with lots of Chilli and no other flavors. We decided to avoid taking the risk and ordering desserts.
We did receive 10% discount after complaining about the Spaghetti dish but we would still not return to the restaurant nor recommend anyone else to eat there.

An amazing meal that was full of flavour and perfectly presented on the plate. The service was incredible with two lovely staff that looked after us the whole night. Even though it was slightly pricey when the menu is first looked at, the meal stood up the that standard. Highly recommended for an evening out.

We went there last night. Is it the worst meal we have ever eaten out in our lives? - possibly. No clues on getting a sparkling mineral water, they had it but we got flat and we told it was sparkling, not flat, broken glass for drink. Then 1 and 3/4 hours wait for the main course. "Rack of lamb is served pink" is fine but to be told we don't know what we are talking about when it had not even reached blue is just too much. And it was 50% fat.
Lamb polpetti - were marbles. One very pleasant casual waitress tried a rescue, but when the head person from front of house is just plain rude, why does anyone go here? Plus kids running wild it was like a kindergarten playroom. And they charge higher than Melbourne prices. Do not bother, you have been told.

Service was very slow obviously did not cater for the public holiday. We will not be back again and not recommend it either. Ended up going to pie in the sky to get pies to take home.

Great setting in Mt Dandenong but appallingly bad food, what a let down for our international vistors to Melbourne it was.

Bad place to go! I had booked a table for two at Credo for 8 pm (for my husband's birthday) and arrived on time only to be shuffled over to the bar and told to wait while they found and set up a table for us. 15 minutes later, we were seated at a table in the doorway where a cold draft hit us every time someone opened the door. 10 minutes after being seated, we had to ask for a drink.
One hour after ordering our meals, our entree finally arrived. We had both ordered calamari (which takes about one minute to cook) but it was so overcooked that it was dark brown and chewy. I think they had cooked it for the full hour that we were waiting for it! We ate it anyway because we were So hungry. We then had to wait another half an hour for our main meals to arrive. My husband had chicken and I had eye fillet steak, which were both quite good meals, although the "rosemary potatoes" had no rosemary on them.
However, I had specifically told the waiter that I have an allergy (sulpur dioxide) and cannot have any wine in my meal. But the sauce for the steak had wine in it! I told the waitress and she went and spoke to the kitchen staff, who told her that he did put wine in it and then remembered that I couldn't have it, but sent it out to me regardless! I could have ended up in hospital with an asthma attack!
We did not stay for dessert because we could not stand to be there any longer.
Needless to say, we will never return.

Forgot my entree, then it appeared twice on the bill after I asked for it again. We had empty wine glasses and water glasses all night, had to ask for water, which didn't even arrive. Got offered dessert menus and after 10 minutes decided to get them myself. All this while the senior staff stood in the kitchen talking to the chefs playing with her hair. Never again.

We enjoyed our anniversary dinner here so much that we will definitely return, just because the food was so delish, perfectly cooked and very reasonably priced. We were seated in front of the open fire (v spoilt as it was such a freezing, rainy night) but never felt too hot or stuffy.
Service was very attentive without being obtrusive. Other tables are not so close that you are overhearing their conversations, and there was a nice buzz of conversation in the room. We had sweet potato and pumpkin soup served with very crispy bread that was just right for breaking up for use as croutons, very hearty. For main course my husband had lemon, chicken and thyme risotto, which he said was "Beautiful."
I enjoyed my pumpkin canneloni which was cooked to perfection. Very mouthwatering and scrummy. Dessert was a sample platter of every dessert on the menu, to be shared by two. It was fun choosing a favourite, knowing we would order it on our next visit! We felt that the prices compared to prices in a good pub bistro, but the food was melt in your mouth and delectable, unlike pub meals, which tend to load up your plate rather than focus on quality. We look forward to our next visit!

Styled like a modern cafe. Staff were friendly. Service seemed a little slow given the amount of patrons. Meals were a little pricey, mains averaging between $25 to $35. The food, however, is enough to eclipse any drawbacks. The steak was among the best I've had and my wife enjoyed the red snapper. Dessert was a delicious choc hazelnut torte with honeycomb ice cream and my wife had the mango carpaccio. All meals were presented very nicely. Highly recommended for the food alone.

Our dinner at Credo proved to be a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly, professional and worked well as a team. The food was absolutely perfect, our party of 4 enjoyed every delicious mouthful. There was a delay on our meals coming out, but our appetiser was made complementary, even though we hadn't prompted them about our meal. We were very impressed by the friendly service and delicious food.
