This place is excellent!!! great food at excellent prices! The first time we went, there were 4 of us and we got a selection of tapas, including lots of vegetarian dishes and seafood. The flavours were amazing, lots of garlic!! we had one bottle of wine from the menu which was also good and it came to $105 total, so just over $20 each for dinner. Thats hard to do with tapas and at such great quality these days. Since then we have been back a few times and have not been disappointed!!
The tapas was sensational. We ordered a range of tapa including snails, mussels, mushroom in white wine (just to name a few) and they were all fantastic. And I agree with cgrey, the sangria was the best. I would have rated the food 9/10 but had to rate a 5 as the paella was very disappointing. The rice was undercooked (crunchy in the middle) and the seafood flavour just wasn't there. Nonetheless, the service was great and will return for the sake of tapas.
The food was fantastic, the restaurant looks traditional and service good. However, the waitress was not in a good mood! . The rest of that was every good, I recommended
A real favourite of mine, we stumbled across this place when looking for the restaurant next door. The seafood is amazing - forget the steaks if you want them go to a steak house! They do great tapas swimming in oil and garlicy goodness. There is plenty of break to mop it all up too.
The service is friend and helpful - when busy on a friday or saturday it can get a little slow - but the staff do their best to keep the customers happy. Oh and how could I forget the churros!!! MMmM
Great food and Sangria. Service is fantastic. One of the waiters looks just like Ricky Martin so I think that adds to the latin experience! I love how in that area of Johnston st you can hear more Spanish being spoken than English. Really gives it an authentic feel.
Great food, setting and the best sangria I've ever had. Table service is painfully slow but kitchen is quick (our entree's came out before we received our drinks!).
Highly recommended.
Great value Spanish food. Casual, but lively atmosphere with attentive service. Being a Sat night, the wait for the food was lengthy, but the staff were aware of this and offered our group free garlic bread. They had one of the most authentic paella's I've had in Melbourne and reasonably priced. It's enough for 3 people! BYO is certainly a bonus.
