Metered parking operates in Church St between 9am and 5pm on weekdays. Outside of these hours parking is generally easy to find (and free) on the street. There is also a parking facility in the Bryant and May complex across the road. There is a fee of approximately $2.00 per hour at this car park.

Located close to the city in Richmond, Church St Enoteca is an award-winning restaurant offering modern Italian cuisine and a comprehensive range of wines from Australia and around the world. One of Melbourne's most popular Italian restaurants, Church St Enoteca has recently been awarded their fourth consecutive “chef’s hats” 2012 Age Good Food Guide Awards, and has followed that up with back-to-back “2 wine goblets” rating awarded by The Gourmet Traveler Wine List of the Year.
The 'Taste of Spring' lunch special is available Monday-Friday (excluding December), offering two courses with a glass of Italian wine for $29.50 or three courses with a glass of Italian wine for $35.50.
Church Street Enoteca is also well known for it’s versatility as a function venue for both corporate dining and social events. Three event spaces are available; the Private Dining Room seating up to 16 guests, the Gallery accommodating up to 70 and the Venue Exclusive for up to 150 guests. The art deco elements of the building and original floorboards dating back to the 1800’s make it a stunning venue for weddings and special celebrations.

The food here is described as “Modern Italian”, and we were impressed. We shared some primi dishes, and followed this by mains such as the suckling lamb, the hapuku and the steak. I think every member of our group was satisfied. The service was very good, the room is pleasant and the wine list offered a reasonable range. But this quality doesn’t come cheaply!

Since moving to Melbourne in January & fine dining every weekend since, our meal at CSE was the best to date. The waitstaff were impressive, so professional, discreet & charming. The French fellow - tall with dark hair - was so attentive & really made it a special meal.
I had a prosecco & my partner a campari, & shared some veal-stuffed olives (delicious) as we browsed the menu, & were filled in on the specials. For entree we shared the guinea fowl ravioli & pumpkin panzotti (like agnolotti) which were absolutely delicious, so succulent & just beautiful flavours. The orange glaze on the guinea fowl was perfect to cut through the rich meat, mmmmmm.
For mains, we had the lamb loin & the john dory, which were perfectly executed dishes. The cos & witlof salad & green beans sides were very nice also, but as the mains came with veggies (such a surprise - why are more restaurants not doing this??) weren't really necessary.
I would highly recommend this restaurant - great place to take people out, sure to impress & satisfy. Also the perfect place for an anniversary dinner or similar special occasion. Also, Der Raum (awesome cocktail bar) is just down the road, so you can pop over for a drink afterwards.

I went back to Church St again after I heard there was a change of chef. As the last time I went for dinner I was disappointed with the food.
The service was wonderful as always and food was amazing. We were greeted at the door by a lovely young lady with a beautiful smile that made you feel welcomed as you walk in. We had no booking but she showed us to the bar for a drink while she organised us a table. We were seated promptly. The sommelier was full of knowledge and willing to educate us in Italian wine. Our waiter was able to answer all our question about the menu which helped us understand and make our choice easier.
I ate this amazing cheese filled pasta with mushrooms, then I had the Kingfish which was just perfect. My partner had the scallops and black sausage, then the pork loin. (The only thing was the sides were a little steep, especially for a salad of $11 that was a small amount of cos and witlof thrown together). For dessert we had a poach pear with earl grey thing and chocolate mousse they were delicious.
After finishing we were nicely surprised by the bill. A perfect night. Thank you! We will be back again.

By my tight standards, $42 for a steak is pricey. But when that steak is superb quality, cooked to perfection, and half a kilo; then I can't really complain. The lamb with gnocchi was also excellent, tasting better and better with every mouthful. I recommend you order some sides, as the steak is a plate with a huge steak on it and little else. Our waiter was excellent - genuinely interested and helpful. Make sure you book well in advance.

Not happy. Went twice on a Wednesday and Monday night respectively. Both nights they have private functions and don't accept walk-ins. I would never expect to not be able to walk into a restaurant and get a meal on a Monday night; it seems to be more of a catering venue than an actual restaurant. Also, the FOH guy didn't seem to care at all, giving us this 'oh well, too bad' attitude. Never returning to this place again, no matter how good their food might be.

I've eaten at this restaurant a few times now. The first time the steak was not the best, however the last three visits have been great. In fact my partner and I are going there again tonight, and I am certainly looking forward to it. This restaurant offers reasonable value for money and some very very good food ideas. Definitely recommended.

Had a great dining experience here. The food was excellent and service attentive. The beef carpaccio special was fantastic. Definitely worth many more visits.

What a great experience. Gorgeous modern italian, but not too posh. A lot of food has the rustic appeal. We enjoyed entree, main, cheese and dessert as well as some lovely wine. Left very full and satisfied. We had a really great night.
