Really good food here, especially the lohbak and the rendang beef. The service is friendly and the food comes out quickly. However, it would be nice to be asked if we wanted dessert (we did) before being handed the bill. Aside from that, we had a very enjoyable meal sitting outside on a lovely summer evening.

I go the Sydney Chinta Ria often so I had no hesitation to go the one in st kilda. As always, great service, great food and an easy going atmosphere. Mains are little bit pricey for portion sizes which are a bit small but still worth it.

Fastest service ever. We got our meals 5 minutes after ordering them. The beef rendang was ok. Meat was nice and tender but the sauce could have been spicier. I still haven't found a rendang that can top the one I've had at a food court in Sydney for a third of the price of this one. The chicken sambal was very bland. Great for those who have never had this dish before but not worth the $22.

Enjoyable meal here sitting outside on a summer evening. The beef ria and special prawn dish were both good. Service was quick and helpful. Would not describe this as "cheap eating", but probably justified by the quality. At least you can bring your own wine and get a cappuccino!

Our first Malaysian meal since we got back from a trip to Malaysia earlier this year did not disappoint. Authentic dishes at reasonable prices. The roti and duck with rice were just as we remembered them from Malaysia. A great cheap eat.

Wonderful unpretentious spot with delicious food at good value. Was very busy (with a few takeaway orders) when we visited which probably made the service level slightly lower than expected. Fresh flavour combinations with quality ingredients. Went with low expectations and it definitely over-delivered!
