Very, very average service (I had to ask for a bottle opener to open their best wine on the menu). A very rude young lady with little to no service experience noted on several occasions. Tempura prawns, way too bland and oily. Chiba Special (Sashimi platter) was good for the most part though the salmon was spent and the 'fishy' smell was observed from the table next to me. This has happened on multiple occasions.

I have now been there 5 times as it's almost next door to me. It's just too inconsistent. I'm surprised to say the least at all the great reviews, many other friends and family aren't at all impressed.

Great fresh food, friendly service. Ordered way too much but loved it. The Chiba Platter is more then enough for 2 ppl and only $46. Didnt really need the gyoza, chicken skewers and rare beef LOL, but it was nice anyway!

Love this little restaurant, noisy but atmosphere is always feels positive. Meals are abundant, filling, and absolutely delicious! Uber freshness no matter what day or time you go. Service is friendly and helpful to those newbies who aren't sure of what is what. Highly recommended.

This restaurants good if you go for quality of food. They are every nicely presented and look deligtful. However, my family and myself do have rather large appetites and there just wasn't that much food on the plate to enjoy. Other than that, its great. The Japanese atmosphere is superb.

1st time at Chiba, due to following up the recommendations found on this site.
I happily agree, really fresh food, nice staff, fantastic value for money. Tiny noisy little place, not for the intimate evening, if that's what your looking for. But for clean fresh inexpensive food and a great vibe, this is the place to go. Definitely a keeper.

This is a great place and it's always busy for a reason. Great variety of food that is tasty and well priced. Great service to match. Sure it's busy, so not a place for a quiet night but that's because it's so good and popular. It reminded me of the cafes in Tokyo.

I adore this little place. It's quiet, well laid out, courteous staff and chef, with excellent quality food at a very reasonable price. The ventilation is really good so it doesn't stink of cook food. They should however check on the quality of the plastic bowls and bento regularly. I've had some miso soup spills due to a cracked bowl. Other than that, it's a perfect little place I frequent regularly even though it's miles from where I live.

God! I love this place, it used to be my local Japanese and even though we have moved we still make the trek to get take out from there - even though there are now about 6 other places that are closer. the quality of the sushi and sushimi is great, and the price is very reasonable. The Nasu Dengaku (eggplant with miso) is the best I have ever tried.

If you have not tried it and you live close you are missing out!
