One of the best char kuey teow offered in town. However, the non-spicy version without cockels can taste a little bland. Personally, other dishes are not as interesting and a little too pricey for the portion served.

It's one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. The service disappoints (the girl at the counter forced a fake smile when I smiled to her, I noticed that) which also includes taking the wrong dishes to the ones I ordered. Also I noticed loud screamings coming from the kitchen? It was a turn off for a night out with my girl friend.

Food is just average, portion not very big, but pricey. Could have gotten better food, bigger portions at other restaurants. Certainly not worth the money eating in Chai. I really hope they improve before customers start turning to other restaurants.

Just had dinner at Chai tonight, I have to say very average, maybe good takeaway at best! We were the only ones in the restaurant right up until we left (not that makes it any less of a restaurant).

1st of all the waitress came and took our order, with no pad or pen, 1st mistake! We ordered 1 entree and 2 mains (1 vegeterian, 1 meat) and requested all 3 come at once, which they did and then my meat meal gets placed down and then a beef type soup gets placed on our table (hmm we ordered a vegeterian dish!), we didn't even order a vege soup. How could this mix up happen?

The meals were "Not bad" and above average, mos def not yuk but certainly far from the best malaysian I've had price isn't bad. I certainly would have been sorely let down if I payed more and gotten the same. The best part of the night was going for a stroll to Lygon and grabbing an awesome Mango gelati afterwards.

So how could they get the order wrong when we were the only ones there and got something not even close to what we ordered? combined with just above average food with bland surroundings, this will be one place we will not be returning to.
