Great selection of beer and wine by-the-glass with informed, informal service behind the bar. The antipasto platter was surprisingly good, generous and with some of the best salt cod brandade I've come across.

I shouldn't give away the local secret but "The Carlisle" is definitely a place to visit if you want great food and a wine list to match. Warm and cosy in winter and cool in summer, this is definitely a fave. Very friendly and knowledgeable wait and bar staff.

An OK experience. The staff were friendly, the wine was good, but the food was a bit ordinary. We started a antipasto plate which had those tiny olives that are basically all seed and the terrine was pretty tasteless. I had the lamb which was nice and juicey but was a basic kind of meal, just coming with some potato.

My friends desserts were yummy but mine was just a bad choice, but the others liked it.
