Tucked away on Dandenong's main street is Cardens Seafood and Steak House. The restaurant serves a wide selection of seafood and steak as well as game, chicken and salad. Like Others Before me, this Restaurant is Just Amazing! We also went with a group of friends and we could not fault this place. The Steaks were cooked to perfection, whether they were Rare or Medium. The Veal Scallopini was a hit, Garlic Prawns with Mushrooms Risotto was the best that I have ever eaten. Just melts in the mouth! Truly a Amazing Find!

On each of the three times we've been there, the food was impeccable. The steak was fantastic, the sauces delicious, even the bread is oven baked. This time, we went as a group for two birthdays, and the restaurant presented us each with a bottle of wine that we had been drinking (Pepperjack @ $38). That kind of hospitality has all but disappeared these days. No wonder the place is often booked out!

First of all food was top notch. I had the eye fillet which was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. My wife had a seafood dish which was equally as good. Prices are reasonable. Service is great. Little gem and in all places Dandenong. Would recommend highly.

I have never felt the need to review a restaurant before, so here goes my first time! Visited Cardens Seafood and Steak House with my husband today (26-06-2010) and we were both pleasantly surprised. We have wined and dined in some of Melbourne's most finest restaurants, and did not expect the value, service, and fantastic quality food we obtained from a small hidden restaurant in Dandenong. Greeted by the hostess Catherine and fantastic wait-staff, it becomes evident that they take the service aspect of hospitality to the next level.

And the food, my God, the food! Calamari, Fish of the Day, and Oysters, topped with Chocolate Gateaux were the crown of our dining experience! Most importantly, the food was fresh! Unfortunately, this is not something you get everywhere, therefore, it was greatly appreciated at Cardens. Going back in under a week, this is our new hideout with phenomenal food. In all aspects, a 10/10. We loved everything about it.

Nice entree of calamari, followed by a damn good hefty porterhouse, with mushroom sauce, cooked exactly as ordered. I have paid way more for lesser quality cuts. Very good value. Highly recommend.

I quite enjoyed it as did my business associate. Polite and attentive service. A nice table overlooking the main strip. The food was very enjoyable, hefty serves, although slightly over oily.

First time dining here and it certaintly won't be the last! Absolutely fantastic food... really fresh. We had oysters kilpatrick, BBQ shellfish (prawns & moreton bay bugs), seafood/avocado salad and Eye fillet steak w garlic sauce. Best steak either of us had ever tried... just fell apart in your mouth... MMmm.

More surprising was that this quality is hiding out in Dandenong's main street. We were impressed with warm and attentive service, and will be taking friends there next time. Good value, Great food... a wonderful night.

Beautiful restaurant. It was recommended by friends and we loved it. The food was brilliant, fresh seafood. We had the fish of the day and crayfish salad (tasted like they were just caught). Service was friendly and attentive. Wonderful experience and would highly recommend!

We've been back several times now and my husband and I just love it. We've also introduced friends and family to Cardens. It's wonderful to know that the hosts remember you and your name. We just love the food and service here. Fantastic!
