Dumplings were delicious, as was the noodle dish ordered. Mapo tofu was a slight let down, a little watery for my taste. Could be personal preference. We went on a very busy Saturday night and while service wasn't very friendly, they did their job and was quick and efficient.
Reading the other reviews though, who expects five star service at a dumpling house? And while we did sit with other people, it certainly wasn't a bother. It's expected from restaurants where there are high turnovers. And for such cheap and delicious food, who really cares?

A couple of years ago it was Ok, but I came back recently and was very disappointed. Fried pork dumplings were the worst I've ever had. No taste and the dumpling skin was weird. The noodle soup had no taste whatsoever. The pancake spring onion didn't cook at all, seriously it was not edible. The food was so horrible even with the cheap menu prices I would not go back.

Decent dumps especially for the price. Pumpkin cakes are amazing. pretty rude staff but it's really quick so I gave that a ten. Sometimes you have to sit next to randoms which I don't mind but I can see why people would hate that.

If you're happy with being spoken to in a language that you cannot understand, being pointed and shouted at for reviewing what you've ordered because they'd forgotten about it, and the waiters beginning to dust and sweep the floors 30 minutes before closure, while you're still eating, this is the place for you. Otherwise, it will only leave you shocked, annoyed and embarrassed, especially if you go there with a visiting friend.
Sure it's cheap, that is a credit to them, but personally, I would happily pay an extra couple of bucks for being treated like humans.

Not a serious restaurant, their dumplings are awesome for what you pay for them. In fact many of the surrounding hotels purchases dumplings from this place in bulk and then in a way, rebadges them.
Service is almost non-existent, they seem to speak Chinese to me but I don't understand Chinese? Restaurant is always full and is great after a grog night with friends, that is assuming you can get in. They will sit you next to strangers if they are really busy.

Easily the worst Asian meal I have had in Melbourne. The service was appalling, I was pestered for my order before I had even had a chance to sit down properly and she then rushed us through our order. The food was thrown onto our table rudely and smelt as though it was off or there was something rotten in it and they tried to tell us we couldn't cancel the rest of our order.

Have been here many a time for a cheap and cheerful feed of good, fast dumplings, but until tonight have never had such insolent, rude and incompetent service (mainly from the head of house, but only some of the main serving staff). Won't be returning.

Fried dumplings were short, light and not too greasy, steamed prawn and spinach good value as well. The dumplings in soup though were more like dumplings in slightly flavoured water, I wouldn't call it soup. Little pancakes of spring onions were good and cheap too. Not classy but solid, quick and good value.

Camy's is great. The decor is horrid and the staff are brusque, but believe me - you'll have your delicious dumplings within 5 minutes of ordering them, and in 20 minutes after you've eaten the staff are keen to get rid of you because they're always busy and there's always a line outside the door on weekends.
It's not one of those places you hang around for a long leisurely dinner, but that process ensures that you are not lining up for long when you arrive because they're busy hurrying up the people inside. You can always rely on it for very cheap, quick and tasty food before moving on to somewhere else.
The beer (Tiger or Tsing Tao) in stubbies is cheap, and I can recommend the spring onion pancake and the mushroom and vegetable steamed dumplings.

Don't go here expecting haute cuisine or elegant service and surrounds. This is a dumpling hall with more than a dash of asia thrown into the mix. The food is great and cheap, even if you are sitting back to back and cheek to cheek with the adjacent tables. Be patient, the waiters will get back to you, just help yourself to the free tea while they do. Fill up at lunch and stay that way for the rest of the day for under $10.
