Nice place, good food, poor wine knowledge, cheese plate with only 2 hard Parmesan style cheeses, tho it was advertised to have a gorgonzola? Get it right guys! Don't treat your paying customers like dummies. Not sure if would go back.

Sure the place is small but the excellent food well and truly makes up for that. The pasta is all made on the premises and is excellent. The staff know their wines and tipped us into a great Italian red. The veal they serve here is "real" veal, not the stuff that some places try to pass of as veal. Don't mind the size, go in and try the food. There is an upstairs area as well.

Went here recently for the first time. Despite the place being busy they managed to get us a table. The service was friendly and very attentive, which was particularly good given it was their 3rd sitting for the evening. The spaghetti marinara was tasty and had a generous serve of seafood. A cosy place to dine for a couple or a small group of friends. Recommended.

This cafe was a huge disappointment. We booked dinner for 4, got there 15 minutes late due to parking unavailability in Yarraville, only to find that the group before us at the entrance (who had not reserved a table) got our booking! They said we would have to wait another 15 minutes for a table, and offered us free drinks for the inconvenience.
We were finally sat down at a makeshift table in between the stairwell and the waiters' dock (so much for ambience). The service was average, the food was mediocre and the free drinks we were promised never came. Should be renamed Cafe Terrible! Give it a miss and if you do go, don't worry about booking, they will just sit you down at the expense of patrons who have booked.
Considering there is so much competition with the dining scene in Yarraville, they should lift their game. I will certainly not be revisiting!

Another favourite since it opened in 2008, Café Terroni serves quality Italian food with attention to detail. The main menu has a range of delicious options, and the specials change daily, along with the selections on the meat and seafood tasting platters. While it can get a little noisy at times, the spaces, especially upstairs, have a great vibe and offer an authentic Italian experience (I half closed my eyes and felt like I was back in Perugia …).
The staff are always friendly and attentive, and it’s another restaurant that is child friendly (especially if you dine and depart before 8 pm), but also offers a quality ‘grown-up’ experience. I love a prosecco to whet my appetite (served piccolo size), a serve of their good bread dipped in the excellent olive oil, followed by a main of the seafood marinara with Napoli sauce, accompanied by an Italian Sangiovese.

A perfect find for a miserable wintry sunday evening. A small and cozy Italian restaurant, Cafe Terroni offered a warm and comforting setting with a good selection of delicious regional Italian foods. We chose to dine from the specials menu, going for the grilled seafood options which on this occasion was a mixed grill of garlic prawns, chilli calamari, atlantic salmon and trevally, served with a side of a roast potatoes.
We also chose the Char-grilled Spatchcock served with rocket and roast pumpkin salad. Both were simply and elegantly presented, yet were rich in flavour, and provided a filling and enjoyable meal (coupled with the complimentary fresh bread and olive oil!). The drinks list was somewhat impressive, with a good selection of Italian beers.
The winelist was probably not as extensive (consisting mainly of local and Italian wines), but still very acceptable. The dessert options were quite standard and limited. Given the weather something hot would have gone down a treat but all of the desserts were served cold. The coffee also left a little to be desired but we've had a lot worse elsewhere.
Overall, the service was good, attentive and knowledgeable. The prices were also quite reasonable considering quality and portion sizes ($20-$30 mains). Atmosphere was also quite relaxed and cozy, not overly noisy, so you could enjoy good conversation. We left very satisfied.
