Horrible horrible experience! Me and a gf went there and an asian waitress (whos been there for 4 years, I used to go there to have coffee in my juniour years) took our orders of 2 main meals, a chicken parma and a pasta and drinks and after waiting patiently for 40 minutes we asked another waitress where our meal was. She told us our order was never put through and that she'll put it through now. What?! We were a little agitated but what really peeved us off was her casual attitude towards it.
The other one didn't even bother to come over and apologize and we were so angry we had to speak to the senior staff. Her excuse was "Oh, don't worry about her" very unhappy and starving! We ended up waiting an hr and a half for our meal she gave us $5 dollars off after my friend complained. Seriously unacceptable as they weren't even busy. Terrible service. Absolutely terrible. Never again. Not worth the price.
Am a big fan of this place but just called to make a booking for 12 for birthday celebration and got turned down! They wouldn't even have a bar of it and mentioned they have a max. booking of 8! Ridiculous and disappointing! Won't be returning Thanks Mambo!
Food is good but I think you all need to pick up the pace with the service and maybe try to communicate abit better other than that I love your cafe and will keep coming in.
Terrible service, they brought us 3 incorrect drink orders for a table of 8. My gluten free salad, the first time they brought me the wrong salad altogether. When the waitress returned 20 minutes later, and most of my colleagues had already finished their lunches, she brought me a caesar salad full of croutons. I reiterated to her that it must be gluten free.
She apologised, and I explained that my lunch break was now over, and I was late getting back to work, and requested that they give me my meal as a take-away. They brought me the same meal, but with the Croutons picked out. This is cross contamination, and I got sick from eating the meal, which I had no choice to eat because I did not have the time by this stage to go somewhere else and get another lunch.
I will not be coming to Mambo again, and neither will my colleagues, who have eaten regularly there in the past. I hope others heed my warning and stay away!
Good food for a good price. Once again the service is lacking a little. The waitress was telling me the menu whilst talking to the other side of the room..but other than that it has a good feel in an area of not a lot of choices. Loved the death by chocolate! It was great!
I have to agree with the majority of the comments below. Food is really good but staff aren't. Most of them aren't looking out for customers they're too busy polishing cultery. When you go to pay you have to wait a while until someone notices you over that big counter. Hopefully the renovations will fix that problem.
Good food at good price. Service has certainly dropped since the first time I went there which was like 3 years ago. Other than that, I recommend it to couples or group of friends who are on a budget.
The staff here are the laziest I have ever seen. It’s tragic because this place offers a great menu and the food is generally very good and made quickly (when the staff can be bothered putting down their newspapers and taking the orders).
Bad staff really ruin a place like this, it wrecks the ambience because if you are anything like me, you can get quite irritated by the fact that you are receiving poor service. Go here if you want good food quickly and on a budget. If you like receiving half decent service, skip it.
