What a turn around - the food is really good, value for money, and much tastier than the average pub grub. Was here a few months ago and didn't think I'd be back. Will definitely return and recommend to anyone in the Lt Collins area.
Well speaking from experience I have to agree with Clairanz. I have been going into Brux for a few months on and off now, and I am finding myself there allot more often lately. Over the past few months the venue seems to have done a back flip. The menu's have changed, the drink list has changed and there is a whole heap of friendly new staff always willing to have a chat or take that one extra step to ensure your visit there is a pleasant and memorable one.
Hat's off to the new team at Brux I certainly recommend you take the time to drop by have a drink, meal or both. I am sure you won't be disappointed..
Looks like old brux has had a makeover. New menu is tasty and actually provides variety, which is a nice change. I had similar experiences here to Maklom a while ago, but the staff have improved their attitude and me and my work colleagues have started to come back often.
No good this place. I can answer irish13 comment in his review on why it isn't busier. I just went there and had to wait 1 hour for food at lunch, the joint was half full (and it's not a big place). The food was very poor, looked hurried and didn't taste fresh (I had the calamari salad). $4.50 is a bit steep for Lemon Lime & Bitters btw!
I just had lunch at Brux with a friend. We waited 45 minutes for the food to come. I had the tasting plate and my friend had the lime and pepper squid. My tasting plate was like something you would expect from a sandwich shop in a small country town; the roquette was limp, packet swiss cheese slices! average smoked salmon, bread wasn't warm, dip had no taste, the artichoke hearts had a marinade that tasted wrong and any care with presentation was non existent. As for the squid, it was chewy and didn't even taste like it had lime or pepper on it! The waitress gave us a complimentary drink and my mineral water was half frozen.
In a nutshell we were extremely disappointed and left having only nibbled our meals. Maybe we went on a bad day but I won't be going back there again.
I'm sure this is Little Collins' best kept secret. What a beautiful European inspired decor, the atmosphere is great and the staff are just make you feel so welcome! I just cannot understand why this place is not busier. Melbourne diners/beer lovers, do yourself some justice, visit Brux!
