Nothing spectacular, just another indian restaurant. But it does have the right ingredients to satisfy that homesickness for the International students.
We were presented with greasy plates and glasses which had been wiped down with a dirty tea towel. Food was cold and flavourless. Samosas were burnt to a crisp - probably left over which had been refried. A restaurant to avoid at all costs.
The food is tasty and good value for what you get. Don't come here expecting fine dining, as you will be disappointed. However, taste is authentic, and offers traditional classics that are not available everywhere (Teh Tarik for one). The rotis are a standout.
Great variety of food, fabulous vegetarian dishes as well as non-veg, changes a little daily, staff gently friendly. All curries are delicious. Roti Banana a real treat. Extremely cheap.
Not impressed. I'd agree with the previous reviewer in that the curries were more bone than anything. Rotis were alright but I don't think I'll be going back any time soon.
I had been recommended by at least 4 seperate people that I should try Bismi in brunswick. After walking in we were given an old menu with samples of curry on it. hmm tasty!. We then made out way to the next room, where we made our own place setting. The food. All served at room temp, more broken bones than food. The roti was the only saving grace. The food was really bad, considering how many people have recommended it to me.
Me and my husband had been to Bismi (Brunswick) on 20 Aug for dinner. The food was not only oily but also did not taste good. We communicted this to the counter and left. We sure will NOT be visiting bismi again and will not refer any friends to bismi again.
