I live interstate now and was stoked to see Big Mouth is still such a great place to go to party and recover the next day. Lived in St Kilda for years and have seen Big Mouth evolve into the institution it is today. Well done to the team there, can't wait to visit again next time I'm in town.

What a wonderful piece of St.Kilda. My friends and I love catching up for a few drinks and some tasty nibbles. There's such a laid back, warm atmosphere upstairs and it's rarely overcrowded so it doesn't get too loud. Love the big windows downstairs...what a view! I know they're famous for their breakfasts and it is definitely justified. Service is friendly and coffee always good. A favourite.

Love Big Mouth, probably my favourite place to go to in St. Kilda. Great staff and service. Friendly and fun. Good food, and my favourite espresso martini's. Never disappointed. Thanks Guys, St. Kilda is losing places like this.. With character.

Used to be a big fan. Very disappointing, indifferent service, boring menu, unappealing food.

Such a shame. This place has the feel but thats it. Food and coffee were very average and small. Went there once and returned just to see if was any different, didn't even order food, coffee took forever to come and was terrible.

As tourists to the city, we found ourselves in St Kilda and we were advised by a local to try ‘Big Mouth’ if we were keen for a feed. We expected standard pub food, but upon viewing the menu, it definitely sounded far more appealing, if a bit pricey, perhaps, as we were just thinking of a quick snack at this stage.
Our helpful waitress explained the specials, and 3 of our party of 4 chose the same dish, gnocchi, served in a creamy pesto sauce with generous amounts of chopped bacon, topped with crispy prosciutto. It was absolutely outstanding. All 3 of us who ordered this dish were transported to culinary heaven, and we had to make a conscious effort not to gobble it all down as soon as we could, as this truly was a meal where every morsel should be savoured.
Simply divine. Each element of the meal was done to perfection, the gnocchi was light and delicate, and the sauce was brilliantly balanced so you didn’t feel too gluggy when the last skerricks vanished from the plate. We were so impressed we were close to ordering another plate of it to split between us all, and we realised that what we originally thought sounded pricey, was actually a bargain.
The other dish ordered was lamb shanks, which met with similar praise, the meat was tender, fell off the bone with little prompting, and melted in the mouth. The meals were complimented with a wide selection of boutique beers that most of us hadn’t seen before. The meal really was one of the highlights of our trip, and next time in Melbourne, I’ll be making sure I pay ‘Big Mouth’ a visit as we were gnocched off our feet!

Security staff blocked my partner from going to the only toilet in the establishment, upstairs, on Sat afternoon. After we had sat there, eating food and drinking softdrinks for half an hour or so. They told her to "Back off" and get off the steps or be removed. Rude rude, security staff. Be very careful before going to this place.

I love Big Mouth, it's cool, it's beautiful and it's the best venue on Acland Street. Great Hash Browns, best ever, house made and great hang over cure. The Dining room is gorgeous and the steak is great. Good to see a big place using top quality local butcher. Keep rockin BM.

This is the first time I've been to Big Mouth for dinner. I've been there plenty of other times during the day, but never before for dinner. For me, I thought it was possible just a tad too dark and the music a little too loud, but just barely. The food was good. My porterhouse was probably the smallest one I've ever encountered before but it was tasty. One friend was also disappointed in the size of his fish and thought it was a little oily. The other meals didn't have any complaints about size.
Service was good, but the waiter had hideous facial piercings which were downright ugly and off-putting. They have no place in a restaurant. Overall, for the sizes offered, the prices were a little high. Probably abut a 6.5, but that isn't an option on the 10-point integer scale, so I decided to round down rather than up. I didn't think it was worth a 7. Rather short-sightedly, I didn't check out the assortment of cakes for dessert. The chocolate pudding took a little too long to arrive, and if I actually looked at the cakes on offer I'd have chosen one of them instead. But hey, it's chocolate. You can't go too far wrong, right?
Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to go back again as I live in the area. If I was coming from further afield I might think twice.
