Food is definitely meehhhhh. I went on a dreadful, soggy day and I got more depressed with the food they served up. Attentive and polite service is the only saving grace. Better options (and cheaper!) elsewhere.

An indian restuarant with water views.
The food is average with the produce used being of standard commercial quality.
No creativity was demonstrated.
The consistency was average.
Will not spend hard earned money

I have been to many indian restaurants in Melbourne, be it the cheapest or the expensive ones. I crave for good indian food. Bhoj was the worst experience I have ever had in my life! My uncle came from U.S.A from some business. I was meeting him after 7 years. I decided to take him to Bhoj at docklands. We ordered 2 Konkan Fish curries, 1 chicken Tikka Masala, different types of Breads (Naans).

We got our food exact after 55 minutes even though the restaurant was not busy. The fish curry they got was not cooked properly! we could taste raw masala! my uncle pulled my leg as he had told me to pick up a restaurant for me for dinner!
The curry was liquid like water! Chicken Tikka masala was so bad that I wish I could have taken my uncle to a cheaper restaurant where he would have taste good indian food in Melbourne.

Naans were alright. Spicy salad was disappointing and not good for $6. The above curries were for $21 and trust me it was not worth even $5. Overall, in the end, my uncle told me that only the "water" they served was good! we had the same opinion. With such an experience, I will never ever go to Bhoj. I would rather prefer going to small indian restaurant with good food.

This place is the worst Indian food I have ever tasted. Also the waiters are rude and the service is awful. And don't bother going to this restaurant if you have a pram. They will tell you that you cannot dine there cause they cannot accommodate a pram.

I am so surprised at the reviews here, I thought the food was absolutely amazing! The best Indian I have ever had, rich and filling. I was also stoked at their vego options as being a vegetarian I'm not usually will accommodated for, so if anyone finds they don't like their food, maybe try the veg options.

I also thought the service was great and the value very good, maybe a little expensive for Indian but better than any other restaurants of its calibre I'v been to.

Although Bhoj has received some good write-ups I was very disappointed in the dishes served by this Indian restaurant. We ordered the banquet and all dishes were bland (even the beef vindaloo!) and some nastily over-sugary (butter chicken). Service was confused with voids of no drinks followed by double orders. Better Indian fare is had in other parts of Melbourne.

Bit surprised about the comments on the serivce here, as I thought that it was their saving grace. I took my ex here for her birthday and they were attentive (a little slow but it was a busy friday night), and they comped a glass of champagne with strawberries, an excellent touch. The food though, at least my dish (some gray blob thing of chicken or fish I can't remember) wasn't good or filling. But generally, the place was decent. I'd consider a return trip if the food gets better.

I travel to Melbourne very often, this time my boss took me to this place. Yeah I agree with most of the reviews, average food and not much variety.

I'm really surprised by some of the reviews here. I rate Bhoj highly - in fact it is one of the best Indian meals I have had. I might have been lucky with my menu choices. I enjoyed the fact that the meals were a little bit different to the standard Indian fare and you could taste the fresh ingredients and herbs.

I went with two friends, so there is a limit to the dishes you can order, but I would love to go back with a few more people so that we could order more variety. The difference for me was the use of fresh herbs. The chili ratings are conservative though, we had a 3 chili vindaloo and it was mild (but tasty). I'll go back, I hope they're consistent.

Sadly, this restaurant wins my award for the dumbest tables in dining. The legs of the tables have wrought - iron scrolls that impede your seat; no good if you're a leg-crosser.

We have recently returned from London after 11 years where the Indian food is some of the finest in the world. The food at this restaurant is exceptional and definitely in the same class as London. Admittedly it is a little expensive but completely worth while with fresh tasty ingredients and less fatty than you would expect for an Indian. We are very surprised at some of the other comments in regards to the food as we can't fault it! The service is also very friendly in a lovely environment.
