I am a regular visitor at BHOJ Docklands, close to my work place. I must admit that I am happy with the quality of the food and the consistency.
The ambience is great accompanied by great service and food! I have tried many dishes on their menu, but the best I liked was Lamb Do Pyaza and Chicken Tikka Masala. At times I do a quick take-away of either Chicken/Lamb curry and rice which is a quick n easy way if you do not have time to dine. The prices are reasonable for the quality they provide. Happy to recommend to all my friends!
Cheers
I had heard about this restaurant from a friend and decided to pay a visit during my lunch time. It took about 5 minutes (and someone mistaking me for a waiter) before someone came and showed me where to sit. I was surprised to see the price and got my expectations really high. In short I wouldn't pay even $5 for the curry they charged me $23. Naan was also $5 which was one of the worst I have ever tasted. I have been to almost 50 Indians restaurants in Melbourne alone and this one overall was one of the worst.
Great service. Some of the freshest Naan bread I had. Highly recommend the 'Murg Methi Makhmali" which is a spicy take on Butter Chicken. Still sweet and scrumptious with a bit of bite! Also try the 'Bhojalais'- a non-alcoholic fruit punch. Fabulous!
High quality food at reasonable prices. They have a great menu with a lot of variety and they cater really well for a gluten free diet. Waiters are friendly and welcoming and will do all they can to ensure that you have a good experience.
They have a great variety for vegetarians and people with gluten-free requirements, which is quite difficult to find at times. Will definitely return to this restaurant.
I came here on a quiet Monday night with friends for dinner on recommendation from a friend. Walking into the restaurant you can't help to notice the ambience, it is waterfront and has an excellent decor that fits in well with the Indian theme. The waiters are all in Indian dress as well.
There were four of us and we all decided to order one of the banquets so that we could try a little bit of everything. The entree's came out quite quick which is good but you can't help but to be suspicious on the freshness when they come out so fast. They were still pretty okay.
The mains took a bit longer to come out and I found all the curries really watery with hardly any meat. When the dishes were brought to the table it wasn’t really explained to us what each dish was. Each time we had to ask. I didn’t really enjoy the butter chicken (I’ve had better) but the vindaloo was pretty good.
When it was time for dessert one of the waiters came up asked which dessert we would like but his english was so bad and his accent was so heavy we could not understand a word. I tried to ask him to explain what one of the dishes was and after about 3 attempts of asking 'What is in that dish?' He finally understood and explained but I had no idea what he was saying due to his accent.
We paid about $40 per head (food only) for what I would describe as average Indian food. It is in a great location and the atmosphere is great but the food didn't match in quality and you could get the same for half the price elsewhere.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant if you are after good quality Indian food for a good price.
We had dinner at Bhoj in their Docklands restaurant and it was definitely the best Indian we have had in Melbourne. The ambience was excellent, staff professional and food fresh and delicious!
Last week we went to Bhoj with ten of my friends, was very happy with food and the service. I don't know why people said it expensive in the few reviews before. I highly recommend.
