Pizzas are very nice, thin crust, not too large but not too small, just enough for a quick lunch. Interesting decor, I'm not very much into all the retro thing, but still really interesting. Nice quiet music. And the place is huge! It was pretty much empty during lunchtime on a Tuesday, so we got our meals quickly and the service was lovely.

Great value for money in regards to food, it was really tasty. I found it to be a quirky venue with lots of interesting details (i.e. airline seats in the ladies?!). Fun bar for a visit and a welcome addition to that end of town!

Made the decision to try Bertha Brown for a Saturday night dinner and pre-drinks with the girls after hearing some favourable reviews expecially regarding the grub. Although the place has a good vibe and the staff are lovely I wasn't overly impressed. One of my great loves in life in a good cocktail coupled with great food and, unfortunately, on this front Bertha didn't deliver.
The cocktail I ordered (Bertha'a Passion) was ridiculously sweet and not particularly pleasant, in fact one of the other girls found her cocktail so sickly sweet that she promptly pushed it aside after one sip. We then ordered a jug of alcoholic iced tea (minus the sugar!), but unanimously agreed that it tasted like soap!
In short, very disappointed with the drinks expecially after I got the tell-tale signs of inferior quality alcohol, headache and uncomfortable stomach cramps. As for the food, apparently the pizzas are tasty and good value for money ($9 each). I ordered the kangaroo, and although the meat was nice and pink in the middle it was also very tough and chewy.
The dish cost me $21 for a couple of kangaroo fillets resting on a couple of bok choi leaves, which I would've been happy paying had the dish packed a punch, however, (like the cocktails) I found it lacking. In short, don't bother heading there if you like your cocktails, they've got a lot of work to do before they can compare with the rest of the Melbourne scene, but if you're looking for a comfortable atmosphere and a cheap pizza then Bertha Brown is probably an appropriate place to go.

Such good value. Will definitely be going back. Pizzas were really nice and the fries and aioli are amazing! Nice and spacious but thought it was a little too dark.

Very funky . Cool Tunes. Great staff. This end of Melbourne needed this venue. The food is well under priced. Bang for buck I was the big winner. I would and have paid $15+ for pizza of that quality. Take my back to the paradise city that is Bertha Brown. I work right near there so it's actually my new haunt.
