We had a group of 10 people and dined at Barcelona about a week ago. The small size of the restaurant was by no means reflective of my overall satisfaction of this great little restaurant. The staff were very accommodating (one in our party had a baby) and the diverse range of beers and wines perfectly complimented the tasty foreign cuisine that was on offer.
It amazes me when people complain about serving sizes when dining at a tapas bar. It's like flying Jetstar and complaining about leg room....it's just what it is! Will definitely visit again next time I am in St Kilda, as will many of our party.

Very enjoyable evening, food was a little on the small side but was more than made up for in taste. Sanqria is always delicious and the churros and the crema catalana capped off a wonderful dining experience.

Loved it. I had 4 tapas, and a paella between two. Aamazing, although the paella was too much for us to finish. We also had the churros, which were as always amazing. Try the sangria, it cools off some of the spicier dishes.

After reading the last reviews I braced for an average evening. However, I was pleasently surprised by the quality of most aspects of the night.
The banquets were well explained and definitely filled the table. Not sure how you could pay $80pp on food, but our $50 banquet had 9 dishes and donuts... I noticed a new feel since I was there a year ago, then found out there are new owners and a return of the old head chef. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening although its not the best for an intimate dinner for two.

Some of our dishes were cold and most likely not fresh ingredients. All 12 of us thought the food was mediocre at best. We paid around $80 a head, I still would've been unhappy had it been $40. !

We were 4 to go there and the food took forever to arrive. Then we receive this ridiculously small plate with 3 tiny mushrooms in it (that cost 8 $). The portions are a real joke. We had to argue with the waiter that we never got our last dish. Not professional at all. Everything was just bad, very bad.

The only saving grace was the amazing spanish donuts with chocolate dipping sauce. Other food items were rather bland and very small portioned even for tapas for the price. The service was nice but seeing staffs friends visiting in the kitchen area was a real put off and very distracting for wait staff. A disappointment given the good reviews I had read and heard about this place. Not a return visit in sight.

The service was absoloutely spot on. I've never had better anywhere! The food was brought out in a flash. The food was fabulous (a little bit on the pricey side for my liking) but it ended up being worth it for the service and ambience inside and out.
