We thought we would try Banks Cafe after seeing many specials promoted out the front and it looked like a good local restaurant. It is nice and roomy if you need to take take kids, staff are friendly and there is supposed to be live music on Friday from 6.30 pm, however, the singer didn't play and was sent home because they thought it was too quiet, at about 7/7.30 pm people rolled in asking when the live music was starting! Worst of all, chicken in pad thai was not cooked. Banks, you can bank on us not returning.

My family and friends have enjoyed meeting and celebrating together since Banks reopened. Everyone enjoys the food especially their Fish and Chips. Staff and friendly and it is an affordable night out. Being so local for us is a huge bonus.

Very overpriced for a suburban restaurant, especially one in a suburb like Forest Hill. Food was very ordinary and mixed with the steak being acceptable, the laksa average and the dessert awful. When you consider you can get a far superior meal in the city for the same money it is hard to recommend Banks Cafe.

After closing for 3 months and opening back up, we enjoyed our night out there very much, the surf and turf was beautiful and fresh and husbands seafood medley just as good, cheap enough wine and friendly service, so close to home will definitely go back again.
