Worst Butter Chicken I ever had, (n I have had it a hell lot of times in many restaurants). Probably they added Sugar instead of Salt and were just covering up mistake saying it always like this at Bala da Dhaba. If its always like that, I recommend eat other dish or eat elsewhere.

Not very exciting food and certainly not authentic. Lacks spice, freshness, excitement. If you've not experienced real Indian food, maybe you'll enjoy it but if you know anything of Indian food, you'll be disappointed.

The food they serve at Bala da Dhaba is marginally Indian inspired, but it's dishonest to call it Indian food. If you're someone unfamiliar with curry, this is a good place to start off. Just don't come in expecting authentic Indian food or anything close.
The biryani I had was hardly the real deal, it was just cooked rice mixed with curry. I suppose they don't expect the patrons to know the difference. The Kadai Chicken was overly sweet, and the food generally lacks the spunk of real Indian food.
The reason you don't see any taxi drivers here is because the food is obscenely overpriced, not just because it's fake. There are a number of Indian restaurants in the area that provide better culinary fare for half the price. The ambience is okay, and the wait-staff was courteous and helpful. Food was delivered fairly quickly, but only 1/3rd of the restaurant being full may have something to do with it.
The bottom line is, if you want Indian food, do not come in. If, on the other hand, you want to have a nice time with your friends and family and enjoy mildly spiced Tandoori meats, this is the place to go.

The worst kind of service we have experienced in Melbourne in last 3 years . Welcome to Bala Da Dhaba. No one knows how to serve the food ! Roti comes 15 mins before the main comes ! Lots of confusion and chaos. I hope they know real meaning of word Dhaba ? The food is good but no value for money as it's too costly for the quantity and quality . Definitely not worth trying as they are ruining India's name overseas.

My husband is Indian so we used to order takeaway food from here all the time and ate in occasionally. The TCBM is really nice and very rich. Great naan bread. The staff are always nice. Cosy Indian style decor. A fine Indian restaurant with nothing much to fault.

Great place. This is the first venue that come to my mind when I think of eating Indian.

It is the best indian dhaba in whole Australia. I had been to Sydney and most of the other parts of Australia but I haven't enjoyed the indian food as delicious as bala's.
