I bought takeaway from this restaurant for the first time on Thursday night. I ordered a vegetable green curry for $11.90 and roti which I had to wait for at least 20 minutes for. Whilst I was waiting I had plenty of time to look around the place. It is a very unappealing, depressing restaurant with mismatched cheap furniture.

The restaurant is divided into two rooms which makes the place seem like two different restaurants, one sit down and the other squatting on cushions. The front ordering desk is really ugly and the young guy sitting behind it sat there the whole time I was waiting using a knife to try and get something out from underneath his fingernails.

When they handed my meal over I could not believe how small the serving was. The meal was put in one of those round plastic containers that most places would serve a small rice in. When I got home another disappointment, the curry was full of tofu and hardly any vegetables! I hate tofu and nowhere on the menu did it state that this curry with 'seasonal' vegetables had tofu in it! Just because I often order meat-less dishes does not mean that I like tofu!

The flavour of the curry was nice enough, however, one of the vegetables, some sort of onion or similar, was tough and almost crunchy, seemingly well past its use-by date. The roti was over-cooked burnt. I threw the menu out after this meal. I will not be going back.

A wonderful restaurant, I ate the BBQ Pork with steamed rice, and I couldn't finish it as it was so huge. I had excellent service from the head waiter, who saw that I was awkwardly spooning rice onto my plate so he came over to serve me personally. Food was quick and service was with a smile.

Some of the most authentic Thai food I have had in Melbourne can be found at Thai Taste. Try their Thai Milk Tea it is really refreshing. Their menu is large and contains many dishes not found anywhere else. Like their fried pork leg, yes it is nearly the whole pork leg. Their stirfry with peppercorn is great. On one night we were there they had live music as well.

I love this place! My partner and I come here a lot. We love sitting on the cushions on the floor. You can either choose to sit on chairs or the floor. Sometimes they even have a live singer singing Thai (even though we don't understand) but it makes the place feel so alive. Food was great! Soft shell crabs are my partners favourite and I love all the curries. Thai iced tea is also good, sometimes too sweet with the amount of carnation milk they use.

I have been going there for years. Food, service and 'feeling' is really good. Some Thai staff have difficulty with English if you speak too quickly. Ideally go with a few friends so you can try lots of different dishes. I found the food extraordinarily good, with a vast diversity, something for everyone, excellent value for money.

'Thai Taste' it's named, and Thai taste it is. Outstanding and authentic cuisine. Some of the most authentic Thai food we've had outside of Thailand. The menu features many dishes which are difficult to find elsewhere. There's just no comparison with the food here, and what you find at westernised Thai restaurants.

I'm giving the food '8' instead of '9' because the coconut milk in the desserts was overpoweringly salty. But this was the only flaw. The venue is split in half, with tables and chairs on one side, and floor and cushion seating on the other. Nothing wrong with the service. It was fine especially considering they were catering for a full house.

We were there on a Saturday night (booking essential), and the restaurant was full - with 90% Thai customers. Will be back soon. Highly recommended.
