Service was ok if not a bit surly but the food was very expensive for the quality and inventiveness. I ordered fish of the day which was smaller than the entree my friend had. I queried this and when it came back a small piece of additional fish was placed next to the original one - both were bland, over-cooked and very disappointing.
It didn't help that the waiter said "I hope this is enough for you now", cheeky and unwarranted. I will never go back and nor will my friends, despite their food being 'nice'.
I've been to this restaurant/cafe on a few occasions and its performance is quite inconsistent. The food is generally of good quality but a bit overpriced and on the small side. It's a good place to go before a film/play if you just want a small meal beforehand. The decor and ambience of the place is modern and pleasant. I also like how it's quite low key and relaxed. I've rated the service of this place down based on our last experience.
The true test of a restaurant is when it's busy and the service fell down badly in this instance. We were not given a menu after being seated and the food took a long time (about 25 minutes) to arrive (even though we only ordered 3 entree dishes). The wait person that served us offered us an extra piece in one of our entrees (as it was a serving of three and there were two of us).
Initially I thought this was a very generous move until I got the bill and realised we were charged $3.50 for an extra meat ball. Final blow was when we were mistakenly overcharged for 2 beers and an orange juice that we didn't order. The whole experience was pretty disappointing and I don't think we will be going back there again.
Disappointing in its lack of innovation rather than any technical or stylistic faults. Great location, OK ambience and service. Currently, dishes are blandly conceived and boringly executed. The menu needs to be comprehensively and critically revamped to truly achieve state of the art fusion cuisine. New chef perhaps?
Food is overpriced and terrible value for money. The service was ok. The communal table was a nice idea. The place draws a good crowd... I cannot see anyone coming back on a regular basis as the price/size of the food certainly is not worth it!
The food was great and the menu had plenty of tasty choices but the serves are a bit on the small side. The restaurant has a fast paced, buzzy and funky feel to it.
Had the lamb curry which was quite tasty but pretty tiny (and presented a la nouvelle cuisine) and pretty expensive at $24. Service was good though and a good buzz without anyone being pretentious. There's a big communal mosaic 'table' at the front where you can just eat on your own and bump into other people.
