As a long ago resident of Ascot Vale when it was a working man's suburb, I never would have dreamed that a little place like this would ever exist. It's not up there with the best Melbourne has to offer, but as a one-up local it fits the bill. Prices aren't that dear (relatively), and the wine prices are good. Not that many menu items but enough for everyone. Cakes good, as is the dessert platter. We only ordered one and they were nice enough to make it a larger version at the same cost as there were a few of us.

Coffee - not great. We've popped in just for dessert on the way home from dinner elsewhere and they didn't mind. If in the area, definitely give it a go.

Since Arcadia's listing in the Good Food Guide, ownership, chef and many staff have changed. Probably still worth a look but the GFG endorsement is pretty meaningless.

Went for a special birthday. Far from cheap. Food was Ok but not to rave over. Decore is lovely and the service spot on. Parking was Ok. No BYO. Wine was at a fair price. Was a bit loud when it filled up.

We went to Arcadia on a weeknight to celebrate a girlfriend's birthday. All the meals were very tasty though the main course portions were not very big so lucky we are not big eaters. The waiter was very pleasant and helpful, the atmosphere was comfortable and the wine list was reasonably priced and offered a good selection. I would recommend this place for a special meal or for a weeknight meal out.

Went once for dinner and once for breakfast a few months ago. The food was good but nothing special (breakfast), and the dinner food was ok, but somewhat amateurish in its execution (flavours not well matched, presentation not very professional). Service was very nice, and the interior of the restaurant is lovely.

My partner and I often go to Arcadia to eat dinner and brunch on the weekend. We always find the staff pleasant and attentive. We enjoy the food and know it will always be good quality; however, I would prefer if the menu changed a little bit more regularly as it has been the same since we started going there 18 months ago. The ambience is delightful and it is always warm in winter and cool in summer.
