Excellent Middle-eastern food, and friendly helpful service. What lets this place down for me is the noise. We ended up shouting, as did everyone else, and as a result the noise was deafening and no conversation was possible. I also felt the food was a bit overpriced, despite its quality, perhaps, had the place been easier on the ear/stress levels I might've felt differently.
I've never had this type of cuisine before, but I loved it. My cousin and I had a great meal which was really good value. The staff were fun and seemed genuinely interested in providing good service.
As a group of four we had the banquet, with corkage $45/head. Unlike other middle eastern restaurants we weren't filled with dips and bread. The starters were excellent and varied, entree, main and dessert all very good and apart from the restaurant getting too hot, the chatty noise and ambience were modern but still with a middle eastern feel. Great turkish delight, will be back.
I'm quite new to Middle Eastern food, so I often don't know what to expect. The food was a solid 8, and in particular, the calamari with couscous was a standout. I liked the lamb in vine leaf thing (can't remember the name), but my dining companion did not. He thought there was too much acidity, while I thought the acidity really brought out the flavours. Go figure.
I scored it a little low on ambience because the night we were there, there was an enormous table having what looked a lot like a bucks night. Hence it was really noisy and rowdy, and not very classy. I guess the people do make the place.
I would come here more often if I lived closer, and would recommend it to my friends.
