Extremely busy Chinese restaurant, and it is that way for a reason. Delicious food at a great price. Cheap beer and wine. Despite being run off their feet the wait staff are attentive and friendly.

My boyfriend and I have been to Ants Bistro many times now and every single time we are happy with the food and service. The staff are very friendly, and the food is absolutely worth every penny even though the prices are quite reasonable.
Every single time we go there we have to have at least 3 serves of prawn dumplings, they are the best dumplings i have ever had and i have had times when i have just craved them. So delicious. You have to try Ants Bistro :)

We stumbled on this place for lunch. We were heading up to Dainty Sichuan on a Tuesday only to find it closed. Ants Bistro is in the same little lane so we decided to give it a go.

Good place for a no frills Sichuan style menu. Very cheap for lunch (most dishes under $10) and the food is good and a bit different to the menus you see in 95% of Chinatown. Try the Hunan ribs and the Kung Po Chicken. The restaurant space is not much to look at, the service is ok but at these prices and for this quality food you can overlook a lot of sins. Was packed to the rafters when we visited, always a good sign. Don't worry about the name, give it a try.

My friends and I often go for a large banquet style dinner at Ants and once you know what to order it can be really fantastic. Szechuan duck and hunan pork ribs are essential. The vegos all rave about the Fisherman's eggplant too. Service is certainly all over the place but for a little BYO place it has plenty of atmosphere and more interesting food than a lot of others nearby in Chinatown.

I used to patronize Ants Bistro quite a lot and used to like it very much. However, the last time I went (about 2 weeks ago), the service was awful! despite having made a booking, my table was not ready and the waiter tried to sit me (for 9 people) at a table for 4! The senior staff of the restaurant was rude and keeps on screaming and cursing at the waiters! me and my guests were very uncomfortable! I will never ever patron this restaurant again!

Northern Chinese cuisine - bit different from your run of the mill place. Very busy and lively, cheap no-frills drinks, plus speedy (sometimes haphazard) and charming service.
