To be hoest, I was quite worried when I started reading some of the reviews after we have already chosen and sat down in the restauarnt. However, it must have been our lucky day, both food and service were great. The outstanding dish for me was the stuffed jalapenos with goat cheese. This was delicious and worth trying.

Almost every restaurant in melb I have had the pleasure of enjoying a wide range of multi cultured food and beverage. Nothing compares to Amigos! The food and beverages are amazing. Atmosphere is really good. Service is average I would say its due to being so busy. The only Awful thing to say about this place is that its so addictive you could spend your weeks wage eating here every night. I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years and will be for the next 50 if I make it there :) So if anyone says otherwise about the close to Perfection about this place please do not be silly your only lying to yourself and to others.

Firstly we booked almost 5 days online assuming we would have a table at 7:30 pm on a Saturday night. We were running a tiny bit late, we called Amigos to let them know we would be there about 7:35. Amigos told us we wouldn't have a table by the time we got there. We ended up getting there on time and had No table because apparently we had booked for 7 pm, I told him we booked for 7:30 pm he argued with me and said 7:00 pm, I checked my email and the resevration was confrimed by email from them for 7:30 pm. We ended up waiting for 4o-50 minutes for our table to finally become available.

After waiting in the cold for almost an hour we finally were seated, their senior staff had the nerve to say to us, never book online. Honestly, why have that on your website then send us a confirmation email reserving our table? Just ridiculous! Then as a good gesture they offered us a free half lite of their sangria. Which we thought was nice until we received it, we all expected a nice glass to enjoy after waiting, tasted horrible!

The food was reasonable and came out in a timely manner but again Service was very poor and was not impressed one bit by it. A few suggestions to Amigos - you should remove the reservation icon off your website very deceiving and when you're offering a complimentary drink for your lack of customer service at least serve us a half decent drink, not a watered down glass of terrible tasting Sangria.

This is a very strange place. Took the waiter 4 attempts over 20 minutes to get our order right. Staff were not very happy. Looked like total chaos in the kitchen. Mains arrived before entrees! Food was bland and unattractive. Don't go.

Went Mexican before the movies at Jam factory. Had nachos, burritos and enchiladas. Although serving were relatively big but at the end of the meal everything thing taste just about the same. A bit too heavy and far too cheesy for my liking. Tequila cocktail we had were good.

Try Taco Bill Mexican Restaurant down the WIndsor end. The food, ambience & service was by far a more pleasing experience. Make sure you check out the beer garden!

After ordering our food we waited 30 minutes before asking the waiter if they'd forgotten us. Sadly, they hadn't and he explained that there was "...a bit of a rush on at the moment". This was clearly not true as there were only half a dozen or so people in the place at the time and all of them had arrived after us. Another 20 minutes passed before our food arrived.

Unfortunately, the food was even more disappointing. I ordered the chicken and chorizo pealla and at $29.5 a serve I expected a bit more than 3 slices of a mushy sausage and a similar amount of tough chicken in my dish. The overall flavour was okay but the size and quality left much to be desired.

My partner ordered Nachos De Pollo. Now, you'd think a Mexican place would at least be able to get nachos right but again, this dish ($22) was woefully inadequate. It was clear that the dish had been prepared and left to sit for a good while before it was brought out. The topping was minimal, flavours bland and the cheese had melted and been allowed to cool and harden again.

When asked if we'd enjoyed our meals we were honest and told them that both dishes had been pretty awful (it's always better to give unfavourable but honest feedback). This obviously wasn't what they liked to hear and became a little bit too defensive and rude.

The manager was good enough to knock $20 off the bill but this was only after they accidentally added another dish for another table to our bill. Very disappointing.

Walked up and managed to get a table for four on a Sunday night. First thing to notice is how dark and cold the feeling is in the restaurant, also the tables are all pretty close together so if the place was full you would feel crammed. Thankfully the place wasn't that busy.

Ordered some chorizo for entree, nachos, and sizzling chicken and prawn for main, also a margarita jug to share. Everything was good up to the ordering, but after this the problems started. My entree arrived quickly but the chorizo was cold which it wasn't supposed to be! Also nobody else's entree's arrived for another 10 minutes, so I finished my entree before anyone else received any food, that is really bad!

I had a taste of my wife's nachos and they tasted burnt, they really didn't taste good at all. Next my main course arrived and I was just about to bite into it when I realised the prawns had the tails left on them, it's so dark in there I almost missed it. So here I am trying to pry the tails off the prawns and sure enough, due to them being covered in sauce one slips and sauce gets all over me. That kind of dish should not have tails left on the prawns!

To top it off the service during the night was as rude as other people have noted on here, one of the waitresses continually ignored us when we asked for something and also she would continually ask us a question but then answer it herself and walk away before we could give her an answer..... what the?

One more bit of icing on the cake was that they tried to overcharge us $200 by somehow combining our bill with someone else's. When they finally did figure it out the bill was still very expensive, the margarita jug drinks are an unbelievable price rip off!

Do yourself a very big favour and go to a different Mexican restaurant, there are much better ones in Melbourne!

I do not recommend eating at Amigos, we booked a day in advance for four people and when we arrived at our booking time our table wasn't ready, the waitress told us it would be a twenty minutes wait so we had to wait outside in the cold. When we did arrive our table was ready but we didn't get any knives, forks or napkins.

We ordered our food around 8:15 and the first meal didn't come out till 9 o'clock then the next one came out 10 minutes later the third meal came out 5 minutes after that, then the last meal another 5 minutes after that so by the time we received the last meal the first meal was cold. It was very overpriced, cramped and noisy will not go back!

Like the movie the 3 amigo's I'm pretty sure this place is actually being run by the bumbling Amigo's, Lucky Day, Dusty Bottoms and Ned Nederlander. Even the experience followed the plot of the movie, there was an angry mob and the service and kitchen situation so bad it was funny. I'm sure I saw El Guapo turning the 'Texmex' style burrito's as the head chef.

Arriving at the restaurant at 7:30 ordering a trio of dips (which were overpriced) we didn’t actually eat until after 9:15, the quickest we saw our waitress move was taking away some of our half eaten dishes.

(dishwater in the eye and the angry mob actually added some ambience entertainment points.)

"Everybody everywhere must face there El Guapo, it just so happens the Amigo's El Guapo was the actual El Guapo." And like the movie there will be no sequel.
