I must thank previous reviewers for their positive reviews as I probably wouldn’t have bothered with Acquum, otherwise, it only having got a lukewarm 12.5 in the Good Food Guide. We opted for the set, price dinner (3 courses for $45) as it had the dishes we would have ordered anyway.
Everything was tasty and well cooked. Particularly good was my main of linguini with tiger prawns. It's a simple looking dish, but one which is usually pretty badly done at your suburban Italian restaurant, but here was lifted by crispy bits of pancetta, the freshest of prawns, and just the right amount of parsley. (Of course Acquum has no excuse for not using top produce, being almost opposite the Queen Vic Market!).
Service was friendly but a bit weak, eg. we didn’t receive any bread, despite the container of olive oil in the middle of the table. But this didn’t detract from the meal for us. Will be going back.
We went on a recommendation and were very pleased. Steak was excellent, service was good (the waitress in August must have been a one off!) attentive and knowledgeable. Wine list reasonable but room for more. We're going back.

Food is really good, try crab pasta, tuna salad, quail. Mains lamb or fish dishes are excellent. Too bad the service lets this place, our waitress on the night was not interested at all.
This restaurant has new owners who have turned it around overnight. The food is excellent, the wines are great with 15 available by the glass and the staff are welcoming and friendly. I recommend the blue swimmer crab pasta.
I cannot fault this place, I have been there 3 times in a matter of a month and it just gets better and better everytime. I went with my partner twice, and a group of 10 then other times and it was just fantastic. Food fantastic, Ambience/Atmosphere amazing, Service I could not fault! A 10/10 for Acquum!
We were booked in at 6.30 and arrived at 6, and they were setting up the tables. We found the service a little slow but not too bad. We did notice though that the waitress broke a glass on a table she was setting up and then proceeded to use a brush and dustbin to wipe the table of glass, she then placed the new cutlery straight on the table she'd just wiped with a dirty brush...glad we weren't at that table! They had nice food and the staff were friendly, they have a separate function room upstairs and it was a nice looking restuarant.
