I have been to aangan restaurant many times... from the time when they had very few customers... till recently, but now strongly decided to avoid this restaurant. I have ordered tandoori chicken and some starter’s items. Tandoori chicken is dry and taste less, and in starters items I could not find match chicken also very disappointed with their taste and quantity of chicken for that price. For that price, restaurant is useless. Strongly decided to avoid this restaurant, encourage other nearby restaurant.

I was very disappointed from my recent visit after 2 years. This huge gap was because at that time, Aangan didn't have any high chairs. Well, I now know that I will never set foot in Aangan restaurant again. The level has dropped so much! Our seekh kebabs were so over salty n the meat appeared to have been steamed instead of being sizzling from the tandoor as explained on the menu!

The naans were flat and thin as if cooked on a hot plate, again instead of the tandoor as written on the menu. And the worst of all was the biryani that had been heated in the microwave instead of being made fresh that day! So very disappointed!

Being from India, we always crave for good Indian food. After reading good review on the internet thought of visiting this restaurant. The food was just awesome closest to what I would get back in Mumbai. We ordered Tawa Chicken and Lamb kolhapuri both the dishes were exceptionally taste. Mind you they are supposed to be spicy dishes especially the Lamb kolhapuri so we asked the waiter to make it medium spicy and it suited our palate. So those not used to spicy food need to order accordingly. Overall we were satisfied with the food. Can safely say one of the few good Indian restaurants in Melbourne at the moment. Hope it maintains the quality.

We have been tried every Indian restaurant from Williamstown to Moonee Ponds and we'll only be going to Aangan from now on. Some Indian friends tipped us into it and we know why. A great variety of dishes, all of good quality. Excellent goat curry and vegetarian meals as well as standard fare such as Vindaloo. They are happy to make dishes to suit your taste, eg. medium, hot or extra hot. There is even a curry for those "with a steel lined stomach".

You can sit outdoors in the beer garden where they have plenty of heaters or inside where it can get a little loud but that only adds to the atmosphere. BYO wine if you like too. Great place.

Hands down the best Indian restaurant in Melbourne at the moment (mid-2011), this coming from someone of North Indian origin. The food is authentic and also veers away from the standard indian restaurant fare. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food, no cheap off-cuts of meat used here! I love the overall experience every time I've come here and haven't been disappointed. You may need to aggressively pursue service when they're busy however, which doesn't really detract from the overall experience for me.

Authentic indian taste like the homeland! a little pricey, but worth every cent!
Tr this - take your friends to dine, and challenge the chef to the hottest vindaloo he can cook... it won't be all chilly added, as you'd think but hot with spice and taste! awesome.

Hi ladies and gentlemen, I am a person who always loves indian food also try different resturants. I would like to share something about this restaurant. I had been to Aangan 4 months ago with my friends, loved the ambience, food is not really good, the main problem with Aangan is the waitress and waiters are not good at all, they don't know what they are doing there. They don't even a have a smile on their faces and rude. I wasn't happy the way they served us, wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Been here a few times and so have not been disappointed. The service is good and outside in the beer garden is a favourite of mine. I love the ambience. Meals appear small but very nice. The basil naan bread is yummy. I would recommend this place for good quality Indian food at a reasonable cost.

This is big by the standards of Indian restaurants (in Melbourne) and always busy. Food is consistently good with an extensive menu. Buzzers on tables to alert the waiters is a handy addition in such a busy place.
