Dined here in the early evening Friday 18th May with family members. The staff were friendly and quite attentive. We were seated at a window table overlooking the fast ferry pier. The view is definitely a plus and was an enhancement to our dining experience.

We shared our meals which lived up to expectations of such a venue. After reading reviews on this site about rude waiters and bad service I am happy to report it was not the case for us. We had a very enjoyable birthday celebration for my elderly mum.

We have Been going to this restaurant for over a year at least 1-2 times a month and after last nights meal we will not be returning, change of chef and totally waste of effort in going there. Management were rude when we complained about our bleached white chicken and flavorless meal, offered a 10% discount for our experience, we left them a tip! And that was we won't be returning.

Attractive restaurant, but very noisy so a strain to communicate with my dinner partner. My partner had main size pasta, flavour was Ok but only enough to feed a sparrow. I ordered steak ($36) which was hard to cut and chewy. Artichoke and potato tart was not fresh. I told the waiter, when he asked, how my meal was. There was no replacement offered, no apology, no reduction in price. Very expensive and extremely disappointing.

Fortunately, we hadn't read the reviews prior to spending a great night here. The night was cold and miserable but the vibe was great, the restaurant was full without being packed and we weren't rushed. The meal consisted of baha California fish tacos and a chicken enchilada, both were very well prepared and nicely presented.

Complementary chillies on the side were a pleasant bonus. Wine reasonably priced and the barman looked like he took pride in his work and was entertaining too. Not quite sure why there are those negative reviews. We thought it was a really pleasant change for a Mexican restaurant.

One of the best dining experiences we've had. Went early on a Saturday with no booking. Waiter was really helpful, suggested wine and an entree for us (we asked for suggestions on these). Both were super tasty.

Mains were awesome, lamb skarra was great. Portion size was pretty decent too. More great service and conversation throughout the meal. Sticky date pudding finished us off. Not the cheapest place, however, great service, good food and many more menu choices means we'll be back for sure!

Wandered in on a Saturday night without a booking. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good, both the lamb shanks and the chilli con carne went down well. Portion size was pretty big.

Dessert was also really good, four of us shared the brownie and the sticky date pudding and it was more than enough. Price was little on the high side, and not a huge selection in the menu. However, we'll definitely be going back.

The food is always great my family favorite is lemon chicken and beef and black bean. I can honestly say that the lemon chicken is one of the best. The service is fine its a great place for take away of small party for dine in.

We had a nice group breakfast, across the road from the Manly beach strip so good atmosphere.

The coffee was good but not great, food was the big Brekky and it was decent but again nothing to rave about: it had 2 sausages, 2 eggs, 2 slices of bread, 2 rashes of bacon, 2 tomatoes, 2 large mushrooms, for $20 was ok value.

Great professional service to top it off, the waitress did not even have to write the coffee order for a table of 8!

Finally a venue in Dee Why that makes you feel like you are at a beachside holiday resort. Beautiful design, great innovative food, and the most amazing view!. Had the tequila prawn salad with a spiced watermelon margarita sooooo good! my friend got her meal for free as was midweek and buy 1 get 1 free deal was on. They have "endless summer" mural on the wall, along with some other cool artworks and thats exactly how it feels down there, like its always summertime. Def recommend can't wait to go back there.

What a magical location! Such a shame it is let down by the poor service, poor menu, over the top pricing and terrible coffee.

Our lunch took ages to arrive. My pregnant friend who asked for her dressing on the side didn't get what she asked for and when questioned they said "it wasn't ordered like that".

The coffee was quite well made but I'm not a fan of the flavour, very sour and with an unpleasant aftertaste!

We know that lunch is rubbish at this place, but at least the breakfast used to be edible. You'd think that if the food was so bad we wouldn't go back, but the location is absolutely perfect. It's one of the few dining places in the world where you are right smack bang on the beach. But after our breakfast last week I don't think we can go back. We ordered the pancakes and the Deck breakfast. The pancakes were from one of those god awful pre-mix things. They were Huge but totally ordinary.

My Deck breakfast, sausage, bacon, the usual was Awful. The bread was supposed to be sourdough, but it was fluffy and crunchy at the same time, not chewy and unctuous like proper sourdough. The hash browns naturally were out of a packet, the sausages were dreadful, etc, etc. I could go on but I can't be bothered.

The food here is simply not acceptable and I really wish the owners would read these reviews and respond and Do something about it. This is one of my favourite breakfast spots in the world and I don't want to lose it. PS even the coffee was worse than ordinary.

I was quite relieved to read the other review as I feel exactly the same about this salon and wondered if it was only me they were rude to! I also signed up for a laser deal and each time I go I get treated like a scumbag (the first time I was accused quite venomously of wearing fake tan when I had told her twice already I had not).

I don't think this salon understand or have ever given the time to think about how these deals could generate more custom for them if they provided a good, friendly service.

I have never posted a review and am not one to complain but this place really made me feel v uncomfortable and I left with bad vibes on all three visits, go somewhere else if you can!

I come here at least once or twice a week most weeks. The beef cashew nuts would have to be my favorite dish whilst the curry puffs there are also really good. I always find the food to be very filling and for a $10 cooked meal and a bottle of water it definitely beats a lot of eateries in terms of value for price.

The only downside to this place is you want to keep on coming back for more rather than exploring other eateries.

I have been here a few times for lunch and dinner and it is nice. The food is pretty good, the ambience is sensational. There is a good wine list and I really like the banoffee pie. My only major gripe is that we went here for dinner last Saturday for the 6pm sitting.

I totally understand that on weekends restaurants need to do 2 sittings but despite arriving at 6pm on the dot and ordering as soon as somebody would take our order, our mains were not served until 7.30pm which meant they were not cleared until just before 8 (the next sitting). We even chased our mains twice and we were told they were "just minutes away." I really wanted the banoffee pie and then the staff were quite abrupt and rude when we wanted dessert as they needed to get ready for the next sitting.

I'm not sure what happened as all the tables around us were finishing dessert when we were finishing our mains. No explanation was given by staff. Very happy to have to be in and out in 2 hours but I'm very unhappy that the meals took so long and ruined the end of what was otherwise an enjoyable evening.

Worst yum cha experience I have ever had. Not only did they often miss our table due to port layout, the food was often cold or not available. We were given a time limit to eat our lunch of 1 hour. When asked if we wanted anything else and we were told that what we would like wasn't currently available in the carts and that they would now be collecting our bill. We were charged $40 before we even ate a thing. The staff were rude and unhelpful. And often avoided being attentive at all. I will not be going back.

Balgowlah fish cafe (although more of a restaurant) is a lovely little secret, tucked away in balgowlah. The staff were very friendly and helpful when it came to recommending a meal (as I don't eat fish all that often). As it was quite a chilly night so I had the chowder which came with plenty of fresh seafood for my main meal which is a fantastic dish for winter.

The poached pear for dessert was a warm touch and was a lovely end to the night. Was a wonderful experience and I will definitely be coming back!

Great place to go to for drinks (wide range of cocktails) and the views, especially of the passing parade, are good. Food is ok, but nothing exceptional. Good place for a night out.
