The hotel has modern décor and a bright atmosphere. It has a lovely open fire in the bistro which makes it pleasant on those cold nights. Some Bistro’s can be noisy but this was very pleasant.

We arrived during probably the coldest, rainiest day of winter to find the open fires roaring and a pleasant staff member who found us a table even though it was a busy lunch. Ordered the Roast Duck salad which was probably the best duck I've ever tasted and my husband had the Rib Eye steak which was enormous and he said cooked perfectly to medium-rare and the roast vegetables were sublime. Our meal took a bit over 30 minutes but was well worth the wait. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Bowral.

We quiet enjoy the odd meal meal here at the Imperial, particularly the midweeklunchtime specials which are great value and usually very tasty. At night, prices are higher and although the food is of a solid standard, it often seems to take long time. At dinner recently we ordered around 6PM and food did not arrive until 45minutes later, which is tricky if you have children with you.

My wife ordered the King Prawn Laksa which was the second last one available (limited prawns) and I ordered the Chicken Breast Schnitzel. I have to say it was one of the best Chicken Schnitzels I’ve had in my life. It was juicy and cooked to perfection. I even went and thanked the cook who prepared the meal. My wife really enjoyed the Laksa which she said was perfect for a cold night.
The only thing I would recommend is get in early if you want a Laksa as they are popular on cold nights.
