This place was so overpriced and we only went because it was raining. The ambience was really cool and it was relaxing to sit in there. The food was cheap, sloppy and like another reviewer said every dessert had cream in it. It was a huge disappointment. It was fun for the kids. I would never eat here again!
Well, whilst we had a seat near the front entrance making the ambience quite different to sitting deep inside where I think it would have been much better, the food was nevertheless very nice, regularly changed, well presented and prepared and an extremely broad range. The place was certainly packed when we were there but everything worked very well and the place is clean.
However, I must add that buffet style food worries me when you are exposed to the food handling ignorance of most people, tongs in salads, children picking/dropping food, people breathing over everything...oooowww. This should be changed everywhere. Still, this place is worth the visit.
$21 buys you basic buffet fill, station fare for lunch. Think roasts, fried fish, and a noodle dish, pasta of some sort, spring rolls, beef stroganoff and such like, along with a salad bar of sorts. Soft drink stations and stacks of cream based desserts are almost guaranteed to raise cholesterol levels and promote Type 2 diabetes in the ever-present groups of female senior citizens seemingly intent on stuffing as many roasts of the day, soft drinks and chocolate mousses into themselves in the shortest time possible (particularly on Wednesdays when the current Casino Show has a matinee performance). Harassed looking clearing staff recalls distant memories of 'Coles Cafeteria'.
