I travelled to the Gold Coast in 2004 and it was then when I had a chance to explore this restaurant. This restaurant is run by a couple from Delhi who have done it well. I really enjoyed the Indian Tomato Soup especially as this is not what you normally find in Sydney's Indian restaurants. A small cosy place with dim lights complemented by attentive staff.
Ambience was good, staff was great (we were looked after by the owners wife), Value, we spent around 65AUD for two excluding drinks which isn't too bad. I am going to the Gold Coast with the whole family in December this year and Delhi Darbar would definitely be a stopover. Food I have given it a seven because I eat hot food and some Indian restaurants don't do that to accommodate the taste of locals. I specifically mentioned the food to be towards the spicier side, howsoever, not too hot (This is willingly accommodated whenever I request this in Sydney restaurants).
The food which finally came over was a bit too hot and had it been for any Australian, they may not have been able to handle that. The only reason which I may suggest could be that we placed the order just before the chef had to go home and he must have been pissed off at us. Howsoever, it may also be case of misinterpretation. Thats why we will go back to that place this year again and likewise I will recommend you guys.
