Best thai food outside of thailand, a bit noisy and crowded but authentic food and decor, many traditional dishes avaliable. Service is pretty good although can be a bit wishy washy but otherwise good.
Cannot eat Thai anywhere else! This place is authentic Thai to the core which makes the atmosphere here amazing. The food is always great and the fried rice served in the pineapple is my husband's favourite (and won't eat it anywhere else!). The outdoor dining is great, I love the intimate little huts which add to the experience.
Waitstaff are great - fast and very friendly, and there are so many of them so you never have to wait too long, although sometimes it takes a while to get your food which is just a function of how busy they are I guess. I recommend you book even if you plan on going during the week!

THREE of us were placed at a VERY, VERY small table designed for TWO at a pinch despite PLENTY of other LARGER and more SUITABLE sized tables available inside, was Not impressed! No room for extra dishes of rice with the main meal, we had to juggle plates, glasses and cutlery to fit it on. NO dish or bucket was provided for those who ordered bugs to throw the large, discarded bug shells into as they were finished with.
And there was so little room on the table to stack them on a tiny little plate we had spare and the pile of bug shells very nearly ended up sprawled all over the floor on a number of occasions throughout our meal as they were literally right under our elbows. NO dish of lemon water was offered to rinse our fingers after handling our shellfish. In a restaurant of this quality, these things should be a MANDATORY and AUTOMATIC part of their service.
I should not have to ask for such service to be provided when it is clear that I have ordered seafood which requires handling via fingers!!!! Appalling service in that regard and we will never go back again despite the food being of good quality.
Firstly it's advisable to book even on a Monday night! Otherwise, you could be waiting out the front for a while. The fish cakes tasted like they came from a heat lamp! The Tom Yum was bland, and very small, however, the bugs were succulent, and of a considerable serving size.
There are 3 outlets on the Gold Coast and the one in Sun City is our favourite due to its proximity to where we live and it's consistently good food and service. A large restaurant it is beautifully decorated so that it still offers a nice ambience. Waitstaff are in abundance and quick to assist, there are always complimentary nibbles amd water on arrival. The meals come out super quick so if you wish to pace your meals you will need to explain this when ordering. Our favourites always lean towards any of the duck dishes along with the Prawns in coconut cream.
If you are a local ask for the loyalty card which affords a 10% discount on the already reasonable prices. They are licensed but if you BYO you are still affored the good service with a nominal corkage charge. Bookings are recommended as they always seem to be busy.
This is like fast food. Quick service, well priced, great ambience, perhaps a little too packed though but great food if you like Thai. Very well known on the Gold Coast, the same restaurant at Sun City was a better ambience.
We live locally and ate here on the weekend for the first time. We had the Chicken Green Curry and Spicy Beef and it was absolutely divine. The Beef dish was so tender and delicious. We also had the spring rolls which were very good.
My husband and I ate for $52 - which isn't too bad considering how good the food was - he had a beer - and we were very full at the end! We went without a booking on a Saturday night so our table wasn't the best in the house - but the decor is fabulous and next time we will book one of the little huts outside.
We've been holidaying at Broadbeach for 10 years and one of the highlights for us is dining at Chiangmai Thai. They do a superb Tom Yum Goong, and the Red Curry Duck is exquisite.
