Dined in Vanitas on Australia Day and was extremely impressed with the food, service and ambience. Having dined at Aria and Tetsuyas in Sydney I would rate my experience at Vanitas as up there with them but without the hefty price tag. Highly recommended it to anyone looking for fine dining on the Gold coast.

We have been to Vanitas restaurant couple time in the past and have actually held our wedding reception in the restaurant. It def provides the "fine" dining experience. The food is good, but I still think the ambience and design of the restaurant actually outshines the quality of the food.

We came up from Sydney for the weekend and my boyfriend left me with the decision of booking somewhere nice for our first night's dinner. After searching up many review sites and getting only limited reviews on limited venues I decided to go with Vanitas.
We'd both only started on the fine dining scene this year and I can say we were definitely not let down with every aspect of our dinner. The food was very fresh and flavours amazing. Portions tended to look a little on the small side but then they serve the food on such large plates! I enjoyed everything from the amuse bouche to dessert. And my boyfriend was quite blown away too. They offer both degustation and a la carte menus but I find that we enjoy a la carte a lot more, the mister is a little on the fussy side when it comes to food.
Being a Thursday night and a 7 pm sitting we were one of the first few dining but it just meant that we were paid extra attention which was fine by me. The restaurant settings were absolutely beautiful, we had a window table facing the lagoon which was a little strange but at night was beautiful nonetheless.
The total bill for 2 came to just over $200 which was worth the 2 hours we dined there. Had an entree, main and dessert each, plus a beer, still water and a glass of dessert wine. The complimentary amuse bouche and bread was a nice touch. If fine dining is on the budget for our next trip up we will most probably be back here again.

Excellent service with a very helpful and knowledgeable sommelier. Food is not experimental or 'out there' in any way, but beautifully presented. Expensive.

I was lucky enough to dine at Vanitas for a second time in December, and it was one of the most pleasurable dining experiences I've ever had. Ever. The wagyu beef was most amazing, the service unprecedented and the wine list superb.
Vanitas sets a high standard for fine dining establishments across the nation.
Special thanks to the Manager who treated me like a princess all evening. Well done - I'm a fan!

We dined here while staying at the Palazzo versace for our 4th anniversary and had a wonderful evening. We decided to skip entree's and just concentrate on the mains...we had a large buffet breakfast so didn't want to over do it. Hubby had seen the menu ahead of time and was committed to the Wagu, I opted for the snapper. While we were enjoying our predinner drinks, the waiter offered us appertiser of tempura trout...it was melt in your mouth yummy.
As for the mains they were beautifully presented and perfectly cook. The wagu was a larger serving than Hubby expected. We never intended to have dessert but when we gave the menu a glance, we couldn't resist the Banana Souffle', so as not to be greedy we shared it and it was divine. Water was not free and quite pricey but other than that the whole meal was perfect.
The only thing that is odd about this fine dining restaurant is that the hotel pool is your view from the windows and yes at 9 pm, a guest had a swim, now if he had been young and yummy, I would have enjoyed the free look, lets just say I was glad I had eaten, oh, he wasn't that bad, its just something you don't need to see while dining. Will go there again when next in town.

An incredible dining experience, we had the degustation menu with wine. Creative and colourful presentation, fantastic flavours and the best service I have ever had. Formal but not ridiculously so. The duck confit and bannana soufle' were my favourites. Save up and spoil yourself.
