We have been having yum cha here for years, and we have been to most of the decent yum cha restaurants on the coast for years now. Top One is very good, but I suggest always booking as it gets crazy on weekends and as with most Chinese Yum Cha restaurants, you often need to remind them of your orders for sauce etc.

We have been having Yum Cha here for years. Best to go on the weekend, when it is really busy. It definitely is Not a relaxing meal but yum cha rarely is anywhere, very noisy and hectic. But the food is best on the weekend when they are flat out, for variety, freshness and the foood will be hot. I alo have experienced stale, luke warm food during the week day Yum Cha and we now avoid weekday yum cha at Top One sadly.

I have to concur, the food and service here is nothing to write home about. We took some overseas visitors for yum cha lunch and were quite embarrassed when most of the dishes we selected from the trolley were either lukewarm and stale or stone cold. It is impossible to get a staff member during the busy lunch period and the prices are outrageous for what you get. Maybe if you could go when it's not so busy (like 11 am as someone suggested) and the food is fresh it might be a better experience. We won't be rushing back there though.

Best Yum Cha, Authentic and Fresh! You must get there around 11.15ish to get the best food as it piping hot and also to beat the crowds. Prawn dumplings ginger sauce and BBQ pork is great! Its a must.

We visited mid Dec 2007 for mid week lunch. What a disappointment! Dirty tables - food smeared over the windows and a lone trolley that kept circling with the same few cold plates of limp calamari tentacles. Chipped and dirty tea-cups and lukewarm tea. Told we had to order from the menu, most of our choices were unavailable and cold when they arrived (after waiting ages for the waiter to 'check with the kitchen'!)

Service was really slow with the owner trying to coerce us to order spring rolls and dim sims. Had to ask 7 times for some sauce of ANY kind to go with our 'yum cha' not one smile from anyone the whole time we were there. Worst meal we've had in ages. Waste of time and good money. Be warned!

One of the best yum cha restaurants I have been to. The food is fantastic and service is also great. Would recommend. Try the duck and BBQ pork!

We went on a busy sunday lunch, the place was full which is always a good sign with a mixture of people we didn't have to wait long for a table and as soon as we sat down we had a drink and some dishes on the table no shortage of food coming around only disappointment was a couple of things were warm not hot and if they didn't have what you wanted they would go and get it over all nice and good prices.
