Here at Tokonoma Gallery and Green Tea House, situated in restful bush land 15-20 minutes from Gold Coast beaches, is Queensland’s first green tea café, serving spectacularly beautiful and healthy meals, drinks and desserts that marry Japanese and Australian flavours. The star of the café’s menu is Iced Matcha Supreme, a deep green tea “cocktail” made from the same superbly healthful tea as used in Japan’s 400-year-old tea ceremony. An entree of leek and sweet potato soup is one of the favorites, followed by teriyaki chicken caeser salad and Japanese curry to satisfy your soul. To cap off your day, try the trio of sweets platter with Ann-Mitsu with green tea ice-cream, matcha roll cake and ohagi, perfectly matched with a warm mug of Matcha Cappucino.
