We have been 3 times to the Teppanyaki and each time the food, service and experience has been wonderful. We have brought interstate visitors in order for them to share the experience of the chefs cooking and their antics. Although it may appear to be crowded at times, the atmosphere generated by the chefs makes for a great night out.

This restaurant is fantastic! The setting and decor of the restaurant is brilliant. You feel as if you are in Japan. I am a little skeptical of eating at Japanese restaurants as usually you pay a fortune to leave hungry. But this place produced top quality food at a reasonable price. I think it is the cheapest Japanese I have ever had. The portions sizes were massive and the food was to die for. We had the agedashi tofu which I highly reccomend and the teriyaki chicken is fantastic as well. If you are visiting the Gold Coast I strongly recommend you visit this place as you will not be disappointed.

I can only give an opinion of the service and ambience as me and my partner left before we even were fully served so I have just listed the food and value at half way as I never experienced either. We were asked to move our seats twice before we even got to order, both these times were where they had put us so it was nothing to do with choosing our seats.

Then the third time yes third time they move us they sit us on the corner of the bench so that we are separated, this doesn't make for romantic dining. So we sit together our choice as there was no one for the other seats any way. We then have to sit there and my partner is asked for her name and phone number by the waitress, this I don't understand we have been to many, many restaurants 5 star included and have never been asked this, and then the waitress kept saying they need it, even with us having a credit card for them to take a swipe of yet no they wanted the phone number.

Please we were already in the dining room were we going to get lost? So when she kept insisting we said with all the moving around and not respecting our privacy, by us saying no more than once to give out our information, we said no thank you we will just leave. We will not go back to this place.

This is the best Teppanyaki on the Gold Coast. The atmosphere is electric as the highly trained Teppanyaki chefs vie for the applause of hungry patrons. A great night out, fantastic food and wonderful service. You'll love it!

I don't normally enjoy teppanyaki, but this place was great. The food was better than any teppanyaki I have tried. The show is pretty much the same, but the food was definitely mouth watering.

If you want a meal, and everything was fantastic, don't go anywhere else, teppanyaki was the best great for kids service was perfect if in the gold coast again would go to Shogun again.

Have done the Gold coast international, and The Marriot Teppenyaki show style dinners (which we love) and liked em but not loved em....Enter the new fiance, recommend SHOGUN....we went we ate we loved we be back!......no frills and no 5 star looking palace but what we got was FRESH YUMMY entertaining and a highly pleasant dining/entertaining eggsperience !!!....will be back for sure.....!!!

This will be the best Teppanyaki experience that you will ever have. While you do pay for the privilege, the food is fresh, the chefs are quality and the experience authentic. You can select from set menus but would recommend the menu once you cotton on. Don't miss this restaurant whatever you do. Have been there every time we visit the Gold Coast. Booking recommended.
