When we first walked into this restaurant we thought it looked really good. We were taken to a table almost as soon as we walked in the door but that's when things went pear shaped. Other people soon began to come in and sit down and get their order taken a few minutes after receiving drinks which by the way we had to go to the bar to get. After waiting half an hour our order was finally taken. It then took over an hour for us to actually receive our food. At this time most of the restaurant was empty. The food itself was quite nice but the waiting completely ruined this restaurant for me! I would not go back!

I ate here the other night and the food was fantastic. My partner and I had the Quesadillas and fajita. They were lovely and the mud cake just topped the night off. Would recommend.

We were here last Thursday and had the all you can eat deal which cost us $19.90 per adult and $10 for the 10 year old we were with (children up to 12 or 13 pay by age so if the child is 8, then it is $8 and so on, toddlers are no charge). The food was lovely, I had a try of about 3 or 4 dishes and enjoyed them all (Burritos were the best!).
The servings are smaller then normal with the all you can eat deal (and it is not the full menu) but that way it gives you a chance to try them all. One thing that was a little annoying was the fact that the waitress forgot to put our orders through at one stage . At least she was honest I suppose. But in that time we could have ordered 1 more dish (you can only order 1 at a time and have to pretty much finish your plate).

Excellent restaurant, we went there last night for my birthday, it was a Tuesday night and we had the All you can eat deal for $19. Our 12 yr old son just ordered the kids meal, nuggets and chips, best nuggets I've ever seen, chips and nuggets both done in beer batter.
The food came out within 10 minutes of ordering, and as soon as you finished one dish you could order another so everything came out really fresh. We arrived at opening, which was 5.30 and left around 7, so it was just before it got too busy, the best time to go I would say if you want to order and try a few dishes. Meals come out not too big so that you can easily try a few different dishes.
My fav was teh Enchilada, hubby's was the chimmy chunga, that looked unreal and I'm definitely having that next time. Staff were so helpful and friendly, and the lady in the kitchen was really nice, thanks for a wonderful night, we'll definitely be back. Was definitely worth the drive into Surfers!

We had a reservation inside, for 8 persons for Saturday 6th Feb 2010 after a long all day medical conference on the gold coast.
We heard about the all you can eat Mexican, and all being a wonderful fan of Mexican food (one of the girls is Mexican) - we thought what a great choice!
We had asked to sit inside, as it was a very warm day, and assumed the restaurant would be air-conditioned. On arrival, we were advised it was not an all you can eat night, which was disappointing, but none the less, not the end of the world.
Entering the restaurant was like entering a hot sauna. There was no air-conditioning. With this, we asked to sit outside on the terrace.
The waiter let out a big sigh and announced she would have to clean some tables. It was clearly a big ask.
Being a Saturday at 8pm - the restaurant was almost empty, with another young couple, and a table of 4 which left soon after our arrival - being the only patrons in the establishment.
Eventually we were taken to our seats outside on the terrace and ordered two carafes of Sangria at $18.80 per Carafe. The "Sangria" tasted nothing like Sangria, and we soon switched to the house white when the waiter revealed to us it was Berry Estates Cask Wine, with one single shot of tequila and a bit of juice in it!
She even joked you can buy a 5L cask for $12 at Dan Murphys! We appreciated her honesty - but wow.
1hr and 15mins later, and we were about to eat our cutlery, a bowl of potato wedges appears - but still no food that we had ordered.
1hr 25mins - food starts arriving. My Chicken and bean tortilla was full of compressed chicken meat. The tarco's had water running out of them. The rice that was served was crunchy and dried out. The food flavourless, was bland, of poor quality and certainly not Mexican.
We mentioned to our waiter that we were not too impressed with the food, nor the wait for it, and she apologised, stating that it was only her and the other waiter aka chef in the restaurant. On a Saturday night? We got the impression this place isn't doing too well / expect low crowds - and no wonder why.
Finally dinner slops were cleared (and that's what they really were - we are not that fussy - but this was very disappointing!) and another round of drinks were ordered.
Those of us drinking the house white had our glasses arrive with ice in the wine, at $8/ glass. We were told "I put some ice in your wines, as X left the bottle out of the fridge and now it's warm". Not only was the food disgusting, the "sangria" a royal rip off box wine, but now ice in the warm white wine?
We declined to see the desert menu. We also noted that the nights they do have "all you can eat" - its only a select few things on the menu - its not an open menu where you can order anything you wish. And the menu is very limited for a Mexican restaurant to begin with (i.e.: no fajitas? - what's with that?).
This place serves "food" that you can just eat (if you're starved), but you would be better off eating a microwaved pie. It is non- traditional, poorly made bland food made from inferior products that is expensive for what it is.
The "sangria" was just a blantant rip off and lie. And the service was abysmal. As we paid the bill, the waitress advised us that she had now missed her fancy dress party, as it was now 10pm (we were the only ones there now) - despite them taking 1.5hrs to serve our food!
The mileu was very dated, tatty, un air-conditioned and needed a major reno.
I would not advise you to visit any time soon.

Value for money, even though we didn't go on the all you can eat night. The staff were great, and before we had finished our drinks the staff were there to offer us more. Recommended place to eat!

We went to the all you can eat 19.90 option. The service was just bloody awful. Staff that never visited the table, you would constantly have to flag someone down and it took like 30 minutes to get food delivered and then it was on tiny little plates. Its not really all you can eat, more like all you can order because thats the biggest problem. Staff were also rude and generally didn't want to be there. My recommendation, never eat here, spend you $$$ elsewhere.

The food is fabulous as authentic as I expect Mexican to be. The value is extraordinary if you use the $19.95 all you can eat service, otherwise it is average. The restaraunt is clean, and well presented, it is on a main road, but set so there is very limited traffic noise in the restaraunt.
We experienced poor service - once the first order was taken, no amount of signalling, or even directly approaching staff, would get anybody back. We waited 40 minutes from our order to it being served, and then another hour of trying to get staff back to the table.
Ready for an argument, I went to pay the bill. The person requested more than the bill should have been, but due to an error, gave far more change than I was entitled to, even if he had have billed us correctly. I took my gain, and left. The management should be ashamed of themselves for the staff that they have on the floor - it belies the value of the chefs, and the well thoughtout menu.
