Average food, average service. 6 of us had dinner here. Some dishes lacked flavour, one was drowned in oil. There was absolutely nothing flash about this place. Perhaps, pizzas are their specialty? The waiters were distracted by the entertainment in the mall and forgot they had customers to wait on. There are much better places to eat at in Broadbeach. Disappointing.

Not a bad place to go for dinner. The food and service are both good. Maybe not the best value but you are eating in Boardbeach we will be back.

Have been going to Mario's a few times and me and husband went for an anniversary lunch on a Sunday, it was packed and had a lovely atmosphere. The food was lovely as usual, the service fine! Will keep going back!

Excellent home style Italian. I would suggest I ate the best Veal Parmigiana I have ever had and that's something, as typically I wouldn't order veal due to previous experience at other Italian eateries. I had the special Veal Parmigiana of the night that was with prawns and a delicious home-made sauce. The veal was perfectly cooked, tender and definitely veal sourced from a high quality supplier.

My father had the home-made gnocchi napolitana that he said was fantastic. He eats out at least once a week at Italian restaurants in Sydney and said he has rarely had any better. Additionally we were very well looked after, being a late walk-in with a baby in a pram. The staff were most hospitable, re-setting table that we preferred outside by the fountain, even though it was after 8:30 on Australia Day evening.

The mama of the house 'Maria' came out and made sure we all felt at home, was sure to make sure we felt comfortable and that we all had smiles on our faces. We even had two additionals (my aunt and uncle walked by after we had ordered) and the wonderful and accommodating staff popped in some more chairs without fuss.

Honestly I have never experienced such wonderful service and hospitality in a holiday destination (well ok, apart from Nu Nu's at Palm Cove!). This restaurant is what every holiday destination should have to keep the tourists and locals coming back for more! Mario's is highly recommended.

Don't know what all these other reviewers are on about. We stayed in Broadbeach for 10 days and we had dinner here about 4 times. Staff were wonderful every time, food was delicious every time. MD was very accommodating, didn’t book once and we had a pram, place was busy but it was never a problem. One of the waitresses took our orders (4 people) drinks, entree and mains all at once and didn't get one thing wrong. Very impressed, great experience!

Just so everybody knows : gnocchi and ALL dessert are homemade, yes, they are, and if the food is cold, or chewy, it's because of the wait staff who doesn't take out the food when it's asked to do so. And yes, it is a busy place, or I don't know how to qualified a place which serves 550 meals a night! Thank you very much.

Worst experience. Walked out after 15 minutes. Restaurant refused to make a kid’s pizza without tomato sauce, as they had already pre sauced all their pizza bases, YUK. Senor staff excuses were a joke. Prime tourist area that wouldn't cater for a kid’s request.

I ordered the steak with chips. The steak was dry and chewy, the chips were raw and white. The vegetables were lonely. My wifes pasta was average, she had two mouthfuls and left the rest. Her standards aren't high, trust me, she ate from the casino buffet and was content.

The waiters seemed unphased by collecting two pretty much untouched plates. I wouldn't be annoyed had I not received recommendations to go here with the expectation of getting good food.

Very overpriced for food out of can with cream added to it and pasta out of a packet (gnochi etc). Way overpriced for Italian food. Dessert was off, and from the Chees cake shop @10.50 a slice. To duplicate Marios, go to the supermarket get Dolmio, cream and bbq chook, mix the sauce together and pour over chook, Mario's, in an instant.
