This is the best place for yum cha on the gold coast, always good.

Went here with a group for yum cha on a weekday during winter. The yum cha variety was Ok, some odd variations (peas to garnish everything from beef balls to tofu instead of coriander) were still acceptable. The range of steamed dumplings (prawn, pork and pine nuts, scallops, garlic chives) was good and also tasty. Bit sad there was no mango pancake on the menu, and the tofu-fa was sold out but kids enjoyed the coconut jelly, sesame seed balls with red bean paste, and most had second helpings of the custard buns with crunchy tops.

The wait staff were very good for chinese (we're used to rude Sydney waitstaff!). There were no trolleys as such, but I was very pleased that they still go around taking bamboo containers of food to tables rather than the annoying trend (in Sydney at least) of getting people to order a la carte. I know why they do it, I just don't think it's the same, yum cha should be all about ordering with your eyes, not your menu!

For 5 adults, 4 fussy kids (3, 4, 5.5, 6) the bill counting some soft drinks and a $40 bottle of wine and water (they do charge for tap) came to $156. Which to me felt a little much for what it was, as I recall paying around $90 (no drinks) for 4 adults, 1 child at the China Grand in Sydney a year or two ago.

Overall, acceptable food, an Ok place to get yum cha, just be aware (if it even needs saying) it's not Chinatown. Would not say we wouldn't return, but would be trying another venue if we were to do yum cha again, hope that helps.

Went for dinner last night. Only a couple of other tables occupied with about 4 staff for each of us. Food was average and the staff were very slow considering the number of them.

This place was fantastic the best roast duck in surfers we have had, brilliant service everything was ready so quickly! They even warmed the sauce for my hubby when asked to and they gave us free fruit at the end of the meal and as we were leaving I was handed a Rose we will be back time and time again!!
