I have to say I have never dined in however my husband and I have ordered from them numerous times and could not rate this food anything but fantastic. The staff when we have arrived to pick up our order have always been lovely. The location may not be exceptional but the restaurant looks lovely and quaint inside and very cosy. I have been to Italy and would rate this as some of the loveliest Italian food I have eaten. We will definitely be eating from Gino's again. It's also a credit to their food that having to pack it for take away it still arrives looking and tasting delicious.

My husband and I go to Gino's at least twice per month. We nearly always have the schnitzel which is served with a fresh slice of lemon, a new potato, fresh beans and carrot. Although we dine out often, this is our favourite meal when we are looking for homely meals and service. I have to agree that the reviewer who got the impression of the wait staff being abrupt, that could be forgiven, as the people who own the restaurant, are really very friendly but somewhat stand-offish, not naturally warm and friendly.
This is a family-run restaurant and the young lady is their daughter, give her a break! Why did the reviewer not order Church Block if familiar with the taste, looking for an excuse to have a whinge? Try also their cannelloni, yum! and strawberry crepes are light finish to your meal. Bruschetta and garlic bread are also excellent.

I love going to Gino's - the food is always great and I always feel at home there. I was surprised by the bad review. I dine at Gino's regularly (at least twice per month) and find it the perfect venue for casual family dinners, parties or a romatic dinner for two. I can't recommend them enough. Try the homemade tiramisu - it's to die for.

When we arrived at this restaurant on a Wednesday evening at 7.20 pm only two table were take out of the 15 inside and 25 outside. We were greeted by the senior staff, with no smile just that look oh not two more. After 5 minutes she came with the menus and water. I looked at the wine list and almost immediately a young waitress came and asked, what you like to drink'' I asked her to recommend a bottle of wine to which she replied as she was under age she didn't know anything about wine.
She called the senior staff who recommended West Cape Howe at $30, a merlot, I told her as it was on the menu that I would have chosen Church Block at $38 as I know this wine. She replied that this was equal to or beet than Church Block. It was absolutely awful and was just not in the class of church block, for the first time in our lives we were not able to finish the bottle. The starters arrived Eggplant parmigiana, but before I could start I had checked the cutlery and yes both the fork and knife were dirty with previous users food particles still evident .
The alarm bells started to ring! The food was just about warm, absolutely no taste and flavour, only of the cheese. My wife ordered the fish special '' barramundi'' with salad, this was served in a very small dish and put on the plate with the fish. It looked terrible and consisted of just iceberg lettuce, 1 piece of tomato and some balsamic vinegar. We complained to the waitress who could say anything and the senior staff then approached and said there was nothing wrong with the salad and began to eat it with her fingers whilst it was still on my wife's plate.
She then asked if my pasta was okay, I told her that the sauce which was supposed to be chilli, was indeed tasteless. To which she replied that in future I should try another restaurant. The food and service in this restaurant is appalling and there is no way that they employ a qualified and professional trained kitchen staff. We left at 8 pm determined to tell others about this awful, supposedly high class Italian restaurant specializing in seafood. Don't waste your money by going here, not only don't they care that but the food is terrible.
