$300 for 4 people on a so called 1/2 price menu is not what I would call a good deal. The prices are set at fine dining levels yet I would say we were in family style with an up market Pub style menu. Don't be fooled by the menu, it is already at the 1/2 price amount.

Average entree was $15, main $25 and dessert $15. Yes that sounds reasonable and you would happily pay that amount in most restaurants, but what a shock when you choose the place purely because of the advertised deal and receive the bill of $300 for 4 people.

This ended up being the most expensive meal we have had this year and not the best by a long shot. It would have been a much nicer experience to have seen a meal on the menu for $38 and then only be charged 1/2 of that price. I think we would have all left with a much nicer taste in our mouth. Instead we can't stop talking about feeling like we have just been ripped off.

Eat at George's at least once every few months and the food is great. My favourite is the Sanctuary Cove location - really looking forward to the new one opening in Burleigh! Love eating the Steak Dianne and the haloumi as an entree is sensational! My husband's fav is the Barouti. Highly recommend - really good food and great value.

The last 3 experiences between August 2009 and today 27 July 2010 have all been bad. Took 6 people last August to Sanctuary Cove to celebrate my husband's Birthday the bill was in excees of $800, which I didn't mind, but I did mind that the staff were rude, menu totally inflexible and we were made to feel rushed and unwelcome, even when we were happy to pay premium prices for drinks, the restaurant was almost empty on Saturday evening, but they still rushed us to go.

Two weeks ago I took guests to Souhtport Restaurant we waited more than 15 minutes and although 3 separate staff members stood within 3 feet of us none of them asked if they could help, so we walked out. Today I phoned to book at Southport at 8.30 pm and was advised the kitchen would be closed, therefore, they could not accept the booking.

We eat out at restaurants at least 4 times a week and I will never ever eat at a Georges Paragon Restaurant again. You need to seriously look at what you are doing here!

The fish was dry and tasteless but my partner had some lovely scallops. It's an ok place to eat.

Excellent food. Great place, excellent service. Took my husband here with the kids for his Bday the food was to die for. We ordered (4x) of the largest 2 persons seafood platers for each of us, others was that much food we couldn't even eat half of it we took the rest home take away and had enuff for the following day for lunch and dinner!

The seafood was fresh and delicious. The restaurant is very spacious and well set out, the tables are nice and big and they have a guy playing a musical instrument for entertainment. We had a great night and well worth the Money, yes we spend big but we got ours moneys worth. Highly recommended to everyone for dining here.

Bookings are recommended they get packed out. Try going between 6-7 pm they're not so busy around that time, not that they can't handle the pressure because they can. Thankyou so much George's Paragon Santury Cove' you made our night so perfect and my Hubbys Bday was a night to remember! Will definitely return again, see you all soon yasu.

Excellent food. Extensive range of food. Chicken paragon is excellent and the strawberry romanoff tastes good.

In a word...terrible! This restaurant came recommended? (Georges Paragon Rest at Southport) If the Gold Coast Highway traffic noise is not enough to deter you from dining here then perhaps the poor quality of the food and the massively over priced meals will.

I had Moreton Bay Bugs which were ove rcooked and dry and a serve of chips came with it, that's it! Two small bugs and some chips. Don't be fooled by the 'half price'. As soon as you open the menu and see the prices you'll see they are double what you would normally expect to pay. Their version of 'half price' is what you would normally pay in a similar restaurant. You have been warned.

Great if you like overpriced, frozen, battered seafood. Doesn't rate with the good seafood restaurants elsewhere in Sydney, Perth, Melbourne or Brisbane. I prefer it fresh and unbattered.

Ate at Southport food was to die for. Entrees scallops and oysters and we both had BBQ bugs then pavlova and sticky date. Had the meal at half price so great value but would have been a bit expensive if you pay full price. Service best on the Gold Coast. Can't wait to go back.

My husband & I went to the restaurant on our wedding anniversary. We were seated before 6.30 pm so the food was half price. It was unbelievably good value. I had oysters and cod, and my husband bugs for entree & the lobster mornay. The fish was spectacular pity it was too big so I couldn't finish it. My husband's mornay was good, but he's had better.

Overall the atmosphere was good and service was excellent. Would definitely go back.
