The burleigh restaurant is surely the worst of the paragon chain. Very odd waiters, they did their job but just, nothing more, nothing less. It's hard to complain about the quality of the food when their prices are so cheap, but you really are better off spending more money and getting a good meal, or at least go to one of their better outlets. I would definitely not go back there.

My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant after enjoying our experience at the southport restaurant. I ordered the paragon chicken thinking it was similar to a chicken parmigiana seeing it mentioned Camembert cheese on the menu. I asked what else it came with and was told it was served with veges and on a bed of mash (which I love) or chips if I prefer. When I received my meal I was instantly disappointed. The plate was boiling hot yet the food was luke warm. My vegetables were crunchy and not cooked long enough and cold.
The chicken looked so plain and there was a bit of cooked mango placed on top. The chicken was so plain and very very dry. It was served on top of some tasteless rice. I asked the waiter where the potato was and he said it was under the vegetables. So much for mash or chips. The meal had no taste and I could prepare a better Meal myself at home (and I'm not even a good cook!).
My boyfriend had rib eye fillet and now has a sore stomach. He didn't like his meal either. When I complained about the meal to the waiter he became defensive instead of wanting to satisfy the customer. It would help if the waiter knew the menu. The thing I can say that is nice about the place is the ambience and professional uniforms. But for such a fancy looking place you'd expect the meals to be of a much higher quality.
So If u don't mind below average food where the veges are undercooked and the meals are very very plain, go here. But we certainly won't be back after this experience. Awful and so disappointing. Not sure why they feel the need to have rice accompany most of their seafood dishes. It doesn't go. Disappointing.

My friend and I went to George's Paragon southport for my 21st birthday lunch today, when I had phoned to book I had said that I was coming in for my 21st birthday and got a rude reply from the senior staff say 'oh ok ' no happy birthday or anything!
We arrived to greet the senior staff at the front desk to be seated and again extremely rude, I don't know if we had caught him on a bad day as he got very upset that we didn't tell him a baby was coming with us? He said 'so a table for 3 then?' I then replied oh sorry 2 people and a baby, it felt like he wanted to argue the fact that he thought we were supposed to book for a baby?
We were then taken to a table outside under a big tarp with no aircon in 33 degree heat with a baby? We sat down, table service was great until I asked for a bottle of still water for the table and was brought an old bottle of woolworths home brand water, which we both thought was strange.
Ordered, had my entree and with our mains straight after? While eating I found a small black hair in my chips which was horrible! When we asked for the bill we had been charged 9.50 for the bottle of water and nothing had been done about the hair, I then called the senior staff over to the table to ask why we're charged for water that was supposed to be free and if we can get a discount for finding a hair in my chips.
He then argued with the both of us, saying we should know water isn't free and why we weren't happy. The lunch was horrible and I will never go back there again! Thanks for an amazing lunch George's Paragon southport!

I dine regularly as a local and not only is there no better value for money for the food, the service could be found in a 5 star restaurant. The waiters are attentive whilst keeping a respectful distance, our waiter also remembered the last time we dined that it was very busy and remembered our daughter. Food is in-between very good and great but never bad. Wine is a bit $$$$, but everything else sure makes up for it. Highly recommended!

Very poor food. Georges used to be good, do they think we don't know the difference between fresh and old seafood? We don't mind spending money on a nice bottle of wine, but when you pay $50 for a bottle and eat food that is third rate, tends to spoil the evening.
The Service was good though with a very pleasant waiter named Yorgo? $200 wasted unfortunately. Overall rating 0/10 and never going back which is a shame as the ambience was great. The owners need to take a good hard look at who they are trying to impress, the transient tourist or people who really enjoy going out for dinner and having good food.

I have been waiting for someone to review the Burleigh Georges since it opened. Finally went there myself, so here it is...
Service loses one star for not having any highchairs. Luckily, one of our early guests rang to tell me, so i took our portable chair for my 2 year old. Other that that, the wait staff were so lovely and friendly, one seemed a bit cranky that my son was screaming for about 5 minutes when we first arrived, clearly he does not have infants.
Value you for money, hell yes! As this restaurant is express dining, you cannot book ahead, but by doing this the menu is at half price all the time. $35 for a whole lobster mornay, cannot complain about that.
I had the Calamari, and it was so tender and cooked perfectly. My partner has the Marinara, which he did think was a little too saucy, its only fault. My sister had the appetiser lamb, but a main serve and it was so tender and the flavour was devine.
On our table there were also some Fish & Chips, Lasagnes and the Santorini (I think it was) and there were no compaints. Everyone was so happy and the atmosphere was just beautiful, and we just can't wait to go back!
