A visit for Sunday morning breakfast was a little disappointing. Not the worst I have eaten but sadly far from the best. I will try other restaurants before returning here.

On the Neecy and Nos Xmas hols road trip, we dropped into this place for breakfast. The light furnishings and overall relaxed warm decor attracted us at 1st and we were not disappointed with the food, the eggs were prepared just right while Lil Neecy enjoyed her pancakes. Service, although attentive could be a little warmer to match the ambience.

This restaurant is just consistently good, great fresh food, attentive and friendly service, clean and trendy not cluttered decor, leaves you feeling content and like you have had a night out!

My salmon was delicious but my dining companion's pie was ordinary and appeared microwaved. As was my sticky date pudding dessert. Staff were attentive but the food was disappointing for the price.

I was at coast cafe and bar on the 26/9/09 and I have to say that the restuarant is the best everyday restuarant on the coast . The food was so delightful and the service deserves a star. The mood ambience in the restuarant was so warm and comforting. Even though we have just started winter it felt like it was a warm summers evening. Sat morning for breakfast was amazing with the food and service yet again great.

First of all I will say that I have dined here many many times and I have always loved the restaurant. The reason we have always been fans is the service provided by the young Italian waiter who is excellent, so when I needed to organise a table for Mother's Day of course I was keen to take my visiting family there.

The problem this time is that my favourite waiter was not looking after our table and, therefore, we had a completely different experience. Some of the complaints are, had to ask numerous times for water. Then when I asked again the waitress snapped at us and said "those people at the other end of the table just asked the same thing!"

The same waitress also went around the table filling up wine glasses and for some random reason only put about 30 mls in my husband's glass then put the bottle in the ice bucket and walked away, we all had a bit of a laugh about it and got the bottle and filled up the glass and she came back and again very rudely said "What is the problem? I filled them all didn't I!"

We arrived at 1.30 pm and placed our orders at about 2 pm, the restaurant was starting to clear out by then. However, we did not get our "lunch" until 4 pm, 2 hours after we placed the order. Another waitress came out to apologise but offered no explanation as to why and offered nothing to keep us happy in the meantime.

I ordered the Japanese crumbed fish which tasted mouldy. I was polite in telling the waiter (our 3rd for the day!) that it had a funny taste and I was just letting them know as I could not eat it (and didn't want to wait another 2 hours for a different main), however, he then came out to tell us that it is supposed to taste like that and that they had all tasted it and it was fine.

Well that is a matter of opinion and if myself and 4 other people at the table thought I was not right then it wasn't. Although I didn't eat my meal I was still charged full price for it. I also ordered a soft drink and this never arrived.

All of these things would normally not be much of a bother but it is fair to say that the first waitress we had that day set the tone with her rude comments and abrupt tone. I will not go back to this restaurant again, I only hope that my favourite waiter starts working elsewhere so I can once again enjoy his brilliant service.

Being retired my wife and I spend alot of time travelling and subsequently eating at many restaurants. Always make time to visit Coast when on the Gold Coast. Menu is well put together and caters for all tastes. Restaurant is professionally run, food is always fresh and beautifully prepared. The owner insists on staff being attentive to the "little things" that are not considered important at other establishments. One of the best on the coast and worth a visit.

I have visited this restaurant twice now for Breakfast and coffee. Unfortunately, the service was the same on both occasions. For breakfast we ordered three Orange juices and some water for three people. The orange juice came out nice and quickly. But oops forgot the water. So we reminded the waitress. She brought over just one glass? So we asked another waitress if we could have two more glasses of water.

She delivered you guessed it one glass. So we asked yet again. The waitress was a little like a stunned mullet but finally got us all a glass of water. Water is given, it must be offered to all customers on ordering. Simple stuff. On the other hand the food we ordered was quite good, good size and reasonably well priced. The coffee was quite good also.

A shame about the service, otherwise, an ok place to eat. Probably would try somewhere else next time. Seems to be plenty more to chose from.

As a yearly visitor to the GC, I never miss the opportunity to dine here. Always delicious and enjoyable.
