I am an Italian and I know my food. Buona Sera's is one of the best authentic Italian restaurants I've ever tried. Excellent food beautiful ambience and amazing service. I was there last week with other 9 Italians from Melbourne and we were absolutely amazed with the experience. And by the way best canelloni I had in very long time, best fish and no doubt the best pizza and I repeat the best!

Entertainment was something which I have to talk about it too. And guess what Enis the owner plays il violino magnifico. So nice an mazing experience.

I have been to this restaurant three times and went again last night after not being there for about 6 months. Unfortunately, the restaurant has slipped. I ordered a dish from the specials which was described as Barramundi Gamberi. It said it was fresh (not frozen) and wild (not farmed) barraumundi. Well the fish was stodgy and pretty ordinary. But my main gripe was that they had about 6 prawns sitting on top of the fish.

These prawns were about the size of your fingernail and looked like the prawns you get in your fried rice. They were obviously not fresh green prawns and were awful. They charged over $30 for this dish. Won't get me there again.

I hate to be the only voice of dissent, but a review is a review, good or bad. We went to Buona Sera with great expectations due to glowing reports in the local paper and were bitterly disappointed. The strange lecture given us by the owner about the need for us to "Co-operate (because they were flat out ) and order a pizza bread at the same time as our main courses ", should have set the alarm bells ringing. We only wanted something to nibble with our wine as we waited, obviously an unreasonable request. Our food arrived in good time, surprising as the staff seemed edgy and disorganized. Both the Cannelloni and the Crab Ravioli were blatantly microwaved and the salad was far from fresh with very little imagination. Dessert was non-existent as we couldn't bring ourselves to waste any more money. A disappointing night, capped off by an outrageous $32 for the reheated Ravioli.

We went to Buono Sera last Sat night (Feb 28, 2009) to celebrate our 16th anniversary. The food was so delicious. I could have had another plate full of it. I ordered the Cannelloni, it was the best I have ever had on the Gold Coast and I have tried many Italian restaurants here.

Last Saturday night we ate at Buona Sera and what an experience! My wife was amazed and trust me she is very picky when it comes to food. I had Ravioli Crab and Prawns and she had Saltinboca alla Romana. Very very nice. No wonder why they were busy when everyone else was quiet. Highly recommended great service and amazing food. We'll be back.

Bellissimo, Buonissimo mmmm ... been there Friday night with my girlfriend and loved it. To start we shared a Buona Sera pizza. It was the best pizza we had on the coast. Thin and crispy beautiful. For mains she had Fettuccine Strega and I had the Involtini creamy mushroom. It was very very nice. In the end we shared a Tiramisu, fantastic stuff. The service was great for a very busy night. We been treated very nice and served on time. 10 out of 10 we'll be back.
