Breaking waves, surf views, a beautiful park and the Surfers skyline is what you will be surrounded by when dining at Bellakai. Bellakai which means beautiful food is a hit with the locals and tourists alike. Our strong kitchen produces fresh locally sourced menu items for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Our wine list is extensive but BYO wine is also permitted. There is inside, outside and veranda dining, a bar and leaners as well as ottomons.

Fantastic food, big servings, the staff were great, friendly and polite. We went back 2 days in a row and relatives up from melbourne dined there 4 out of 6 days and the topper its BYO. What more could you need in a restaurant.
Wow march 2012 and my recommendation, go elsewhere. It's really sad that this place has fallen for the sad run of the mill. Don't get me wrong the service is still great but Omg, What happened. Entree of calamari was to die for but now 5 tiny pieces of calamari in it. Mmm hello wheres the Calamari it's an $18 dollar entree and you buried it under the salad so it was cold. Tempura prawns were tasty but 4 prawns for $20 and a tiny salad sorry lost me.
Mains, pasta with seafood and chilli and garlic. They drowned it in olive oil, the calamari was tough and no chilli flavor. Prawns with lemon risotto, just order the risotto. It hurts me to post his but you need to know. Oh and it was the Friday of the billabong classic and when a new customer asked if they could get a meal at 9pm, they were told no they could have dessert only. Small town mentality strikes again.

We went for lunch during the week on a wet and windy day. The food was outstanding, service brilliant, friendly, did not want for anything. Love the BYO option. Reccommended it to friends who went for dinner and were just as impressed. Beautiful sea food, pork belly. It's not cheap, not ridiculous but definitely worth it.

Wow what a difference, my wife and I staying at mantra next door, did not want set menu valentines day so rocked up 15th feb night, great service from both floor staff wine list equals my local melbourne wine bar, and my steak and "significant others" fish was outstanding. The chocolate mousse was to die for. breakfast on the way to airport the next day was delicious.

We waited around 90 min from the time we ordered to the time the food was served. The couple next to us got up and left after they had ordered because they had to wait so long. This has happened twice to us. I can't understand why the restaurant books so many dinners in when they must know they can't accommodate them.

Had a lovely breakfast here. Good coffee and service. Prices were a little exxy (more expensive than a Sydney breakfast) but tasty. We had the breaky bruschetta with bacon, poached eggs and avocado. I would have preferred the balsamic reduction drizzled on the dish rather than around the plate, purely to add to the flavour. Nice big juice glasses as well - yumyum.

Tasty food shame about the huge wait on our meals. My partner and I have dined here twice and both time the wait for service and our meals was ridiculous, I don't think we will go back.

Dessert was the best thing. Not large servings, coffee was also cold but nice place to sit. Will try breakfast next time.

We were in your restaurant twice and both times we found the same waitress quite unfriendly! to us and to 2 other customers. She has short black hair and definitely needs pen and paper to write down the orders, because twice she got ours wrong and was short and abrupt about changing the wrong items, if she had smiled and was genuniely apologetic, it would not have been a problem, but she wasn't and this was obvious when she was told by another customer that there was a problem.
When that customer left the restaurant, she was outspoken and rude about her. You might have advertised The Best Restaurant, but you need to get "Friendlier Staff" to go with it, we won't recommend your restaurant, even though the food was lovely.

One of the best places this end of the Gold Coast. Pork belly is excellent. One criticism: why do they need to have the TV on? If I wanted to eat my dinner in front of the TV I would have stayed at home. When dining out, I want to be focus on my meal and company and not be distracted by Phil Collins.

Starter arrived promptly, turkish bread with 4 dips: olive oil and balsamic, crushed pistachios with an interesting spice blend, plus two mildly spicy dips/spreads. Each accompaniment stayed close to a Turkish theme which was nice.
For mains we had the lamb and the duck. Duck was confit of maryland, very succulent, with braised red cabbage, parsnip puree and a fig chutney, worked very well together. Lamb was sliced into medallions on a polenta crisp with not enough pea puree and a lentil infused jus. Polenta crisp was, perhaps, a little large but delicious nonetheless.
For dessert we both had the creme brulee which was served alongside a citrus sorbet and an orange salad. Immaculate presentation. Worked extremely well together. Coffee was fine. Cost $160 with a bottle of SA Shiraz included, which I don't mind paying when the food is at this standard.
