Overview of Pettavel Winery & Restaurant

Pettavel Winery & Restaurant has quickly gained a reputation as a producer of award winning wine and food and has become a must visit destination for visitors to the Great Ocean Road. The state of the art venue is set on a hilltop overlooking acres of grapevines, in one of Victoria’s first wine producing areas. Open seven days a week between 10.30am – 5.30pm and located on the Princes Highway, approximately 10 kms from Geelong’s CBD and around 50 minutes from Melbourne via the Geelong Ring Road. Pettavel is the ideal venue in which to enjoying a long leisurely lunch or savour some of the Geelong regions most acclaimed wines.

Pettavel’s award winning restaurant serves lunch daily and dinner every Friday night from 6.30pm. The menu is unique, offering a banquet style lunch consisting of seasonally influenced food, distinctly local in flavour and is complemented by an extensive wine list featuring over 150 Australian and international wines. The cellar door offers winery tours, wine sales and complimentary wine tastings of the Pettavel range of Evening Star, Platina and Southern Émigré estate grown wines.

Pettavel have a long slow lunch approach to dining and we thoroughly enjoyed it! 5 course meal $65 is great value too. Three entrees, 1 main and 1 dessert (or upgrade extra $5 for shared dessert platter - we did and it was beautiful). The entrees are set and you have a choice of about 6 mains, they are also happy to adapt anything for dietary requirements. Staff was slick and well informed - great wine at reasonable price too. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed but expect the lazy lunch experience to take 4 hours.
