I dined with my husband and daughter on 18/5/12 for the first time and we will definitely be back. The food was delicious and very well presented. The staff were attentive and helpful. I thoroughly recommend this place.

This is the last place left from the good old times, personal service and a lot of love in to what they do. It is enough for me to walk in and the owner already makes my pizza without me ordering. If you like old school service and looks it is Mergs for sure!

Ordered dinner for delivery. Over 2 hours later, still nothing. At the 1.5 hour mark, we called to cancel and we got every excuse under the sun.

We knew from ordering before that the food was good, but the delivery service was slow. But not 2 hours slow! Definately won't be ordering from here again.

Food was ordered through Menulog online at 7.43PM, text message was received stating delivery time of 8.43PM. By 9.15PM (92minutes) food still had not arrived, even allowing for busy Saturday night 92 minutes is a bit slow. I called to check and was advised that they were busy (duhhh...) and food would be 10 mins. 38 minutes later the food arrived (we live 700m from the restaurant). Total time from ordering to delivery? 130 minutes! 2 hours and 10 minutes!

The delay is bad enough, but to be lied to when I called to check is inexcusable, not a smart way to run your business. They basically forgot my order and started cooking when I called to check. Never again for this un-professional rabble.

Mergellina - always a pleasure!

After 40 years, still excellent quality pasta and great service. I have been going here periodically over the years since it opened its doors. Its quality, over those years has never varied it is still a terrific place for some first-class Italian when it is pasta or pizza, nor is it overpriced for what you get.

Service is prompt and courteous, with a well-stocked bar. Portions are generous so you will not leave hungry.

Thoroughly enjoyed going here again, we both had pasta of different varieties, together with some excellent garlic bread. Pasta was very fresh as worthy ingredients, and being an owner run restaurant, did not rely on the normal franchised food which you so often are presented with.

We both are looking forward to returning in the near future.

Went out on a limb and tried the veal, which I normally don't eat and it was amazing. The smoked mashed potatoes were the perfect compliment. I will be bringing my friends next time!

Dined there on Sat, 18 Feb 2012. Restaurant is cosy and quite bustly as there were lots of patrons. Very nice atmosphere and decor. We had the pleasure of meeting what is arguably the most passionate, knowledgeable and informative waiter ever. We gave him Carte Blanche to order for our party of 4. And boy he didn't disappoint.

Starters was the usual fare of hummus, yogurt dip and an eggplant dip with warm Turkish bread. The eggplant was a clear winner. This was accompanied by grilled calamari and lamb, veggies with pine nuts encased in filo pastry. Divine! Mains was a trio of Sultan Lamb baked in a claypot, Upside Down chicken and Fish (exact name escapes me sorry) with the piece de resistance being the fish. The fusion of flavours just resonated with our taste-buds. Absolutely sublime!

After enjoying such amazing dishes we were surprised to discover that they had one more weapon in their armory! This came in the form of a Turkish Delight Sundae! Home-made Turkish Delight whipped into Vanilla Bean ice cream garnished with crushed pistachio nuts, candy floss (yes candy floss) and berries! Wow! Will definitely return.

Yum, yum and more yum. Hard to choose with so many good looking sweets. Don't think you could go wrong with any selection in there. I chose an almond cake which was moist and covered in a thin white icing, delicious! Bagels were just as delicious and tasted just as good the next day.

I ordered an icecream cake from an average selection in store. After receiving incorrect preparation advice and being assured that there would be instructions on the box, I ended up with a puddle of cream. I was forced to drive to the supermarket and buy an alternative birthday cake mid way through my party. Management rude and unhelpful.
